Something similar began to be installed late 1980s, it looked quite different (but did have a slope for coins on the top) and was of Danish manufacture IIRC. The UK GPO button A and B phone was used here unaltered for decades and might well have been manufactured in the UK, The standard issue model 746 GPO phone as supplied by the Dept. of Posts and Telegraphs...
was obviously identical to the UK model and I'm not sure it was even assembled here. This was the one my parents had in the 60s-80s.
Students in the late 80s were well versed in the art of the 'tap', then pretty soon freezing phonecards became a thing 😁 it's no wonder the payphones were permanently occupied.
I remember being in Germany as a kid and the payphones accepting 5p coins instead of the deustchmark. Worked in vending machines and cigarette machines aswell 🤣. A DM was worth about 40p at the time.
P&T used UK hit, like the 700 series phone above, but they also used Ericsson kit. The Ericsson Spanish coinbox with the slope was the same as the one used here, see the Bob Geldof video above 24 seconds in.
The A&B box was used in Ireland long after most places, typically in pubs etc where people were only ringing local calls anyway. A wallphone was used like this UK 741.

Early / mid 90s? I remember lots of people in college going to Germany for the summer and successfully using that 5p trick.
I remember’ tapping ‘ phones . Also the phone at the post office wasn’t accepting money and there were queues a mile long with people ringing relatives in the uk , America and Australia .
Something similar here with a 2p coin in phones and vending machines.
The Philippine 10 peso coin looks very similar to a 2 euro coin on a quick glance 😜
