This weekends senior fixtures
Out of interest what way does the Kilkenny championship work. Do they incorporate a league into it ?
That's just at least the third frontal shoulder I've seen Kilmacud put in and bear in mind I can only see some of the pitch, and I'm not including O'Carrolls shoulder into Glass back early on.
Either the Crokes really like those cowardly shoulder hits or maybe they are struggling with the conditions.
Glen deserving 5 point leaders at the break.
If you think that was filth you must think there's a hell of a lot of filthy players around the country.
Ah your one of them.
I tell ya though, it's a right day to throw a 16th lad on in the far corner.
I only saw last 15-20 minutes looked like a horrible match/conditions, but Jayus it was tense.Great game management by Brigids.
Can't see the play and can't understand the commentary, doesn't make for a great viewing experience to be honest.
Wasn't filth. It was a slightly late tackle. Deserved a yellow. No more. Hardly a dirty stroke in the match.
Saved him in that the ref may have mistakingly allowed for them.
Pure filth
Great score by Glen. Look that bit quicker all over the field.
How is that not a red card?? Oh I see, it’s Conor Lane up to his usual tricks. Since when was an elbow to the head a yellow card??
Don't know how the conditions contributed to a high, late elbow.... He got away with it and what looks like a bad knee injury for the Glenn man.
Conditions may have saved Sheehy there. Elbow followed through and opponent helped off.
Kilmscud need to get Paul Mannion and Shane Walsh into the game. Two points after 17 minutes is desperate.
I've no idea what that means but yes it is bad.
I've turned it off...can't watch that. Game should be postponed.
Its like it's being played north of the wall.
I'm expecting White Walkers to emerge soon
The fog has ruined it as a spectacle so far.
Surely they could have brought a few of the yellow balls. While I'm sure visibility is much better pitch level than what we can see on tv this could be touch and go to finish yet as it gets later.
Stadium looks full for the 2nd game, be interesting to know how much of the pitch they can even see
Great win for the Roscommon men. No Cork club win since 2002/2003and only one Munster club has won since. It's a pretty dismal return. Would fancy the winners of the second semi final to win it out.
St Bridget's v Castlehaven semi final in Thurles on TG4 now.
Half the field is covered in a grass frost where the sun has not got to it yet, it's really weird looking.
Looking forward to semi final between Crokes and Glen - after all the drama of last year , should have added spice, hard to call a winner, hopefully a good game
Anyone not using their senior club final ticket please keep me in mind - I'll gladly appreciate them put them to good use. Thank you in advance.
Kilmacud 8/11 favs. Should be a good game. I would still expect Kilmacud to win and go on and win back to back.
Glen will be strong favourites. Crokes missing 5/6 lads that played in last year final though they will have a fully fit Paul Mannion this time.
Crokes did struggle up in Louth against St Marys but Glen would be a big step up from the Leinster championship.
You might be right but has anyone troubled Kilmacud to date in Club Championship outside of Dublin?
St Brigids must have a good chance of making final or will Castlehaven be too stubborn for them ?
I think Glen will have too much for Crokes this weekend. No additional motivation needed in an All-Ireland semi final but they underperformed against Crokes in the final last year and will want right that this time round. Match being in Ulster Im sure will help too.
I think a shot clock (like in basketball) could be the answer to that 'keep ball' problem. 1/2 minute limit? Have a separate ref for it in the stands.
Just imagine how defensive it would be if playing on a golden score basis. It's bad enough as it is. But the golden score period could go on forever, as neither team will take any chances of losing possession of the ball. Just playing it around hoping to tire the opposition out to lose concentration.
No. Who gets the wind - that’s too big an advantage
Also with the amount of frees these days it would be too easy to score for a nothing foul
