US, UK, France and Germany condemns Iran's increasing nuclear enrichment production.
Just in time is all well and good until things don't arrive just in time. It's not the end of the world, things will be a little more expensive, a few assembly plants might have to stop for a while if they don't have stock but they will adapt as things go on. No other option really.
The Red Sea is not the end of the world, the Arabian Sea would be 100 times worse.
Iran backs South Africa's case at the ICJ along with Malaysia, Qatar, Oman & Turkey.
Date confirmed.
I don't think these Houthis (or Iran) have attacked any Chinese cargo ships or tankers (?)
IMO, the Iranians won't bite one of the hands that feeds them. I would not be at all surprised if they are still sailing ships into Israeli harbours as normal too, without a peep from the "Axis of Resistance".
As have posted before this really seems aimed to damage Europe and the EU economy, (putting conspiracy theorist hat on!) maybe as another helping hand to Iran's Russian allies. I just don't believe public statements they make about it being related to Israel/Gaza etc.
It’s not just Chinese ships that bring goods to Europe
and yes they have hit fellow BRICS ships
which resulted in this
There’s a bigger problem that’s gonna be hit in few months as dozens of cruise ships sailing between UAE, Saudi and Oman try return to med
Saudi have spent billions on trying to make themselves a tourist destination modelled after UAE and is part of their long term plan to get off oil, we are one disaster away from Saudi ambitions sinking literally
and yes they just joined BRICs
It's not going to go anywhere,
South Africa who was ethnically Cleansing white people from their land they owned for generations, and a handful of Islamic basket case's including the Turks
South Africa are not the one in front of the judge. All they have to prove is intent based on the evidence, if ruled on a ceasefire is requested and the UN security council will vote on it again, but this time based on the World courts advice.
And the outcome will be exactly the same as every other vote on the UNSC.
Agree that what is happening likely angers a lot of BRICS-y countries (like India, the Saudis and Gulf oil producers etc.) but probably not enough to do much.
I think that the vessel struck in Indian Ocean (I think the US actually blamed this one on Iran directly, rather than proxies) was also European/Asian (non Chinese!) owned and operated.
Yes, India do seem to have been angered/spooked by brazen way it was attacked in I suppose what they see as their own back yard.
US attacked a base in Baghdad, the Iraqi's are not too happy about it.
ISIS claimed responsibility
Makes sense. They haven't gone away, unfortunately.
I have no desire to explain it but no doubt we will see opinions and things in the next week. At the end of the day it is up to the court.
Nothing is going to happen next week or in the next year, there will be court demanded cease fire, Israel will finish the job and wipe out Hamas and life will go on .
The same ICJ who demanded Russia stop it's invasion of Ukraine how's that working out oh yes it's not
The head of Mossad said this war with Hamas could go on for years. It's going to make operation Grapes of Wrath look small scale in comparison by the sounds of it. You're right this court case won't change anything. The only way Israel might consider calling a halt is if the US threatened to pull their military aid, but that's not going to happen.
Pretty much this ,
They will keep going until Hamas and the threats from Gaza are eradicated or the US pulls support and they run out of munitions,
It's up to the court to put out a strongly worded statement. That is about it.
They have no ability to enforce anything.
US and it's coalition issue final warning to Houthi rebels to end it's attacks in the Red Sea
Just dumb luck. They ID some of them perhaps. But it's s having an effect on China no doubt about that...
Thanks, didn't know COSCO had also suspended shipping. I stand by main point of my previous posts, and think target selection is not dumb luck and has little to do with support for Israel or ships that dock there etc. as they have been saying.
By not targeting Chinese ships, They aren't avoiding effecting China. China wants to be seen a global naval power and their navy can't wait to get involved.
We don't know if their ships are not being targeted. They say there's been 25 attacked since Nov. I doubt they've been reported on in the media.
Let’s see how long Egypt continue to do nothing
That's true as regards the ships - I don't know anyway. I have not been interested enough to see if I could find list of ownership/operators etc. for all the targets so far (and am seemingly not following story closely enough, as did not know COSCO stopped the route as well).
I have just been following the main attacks as they get reported in the media, and had noticed that all had involved ships owned and run by European countries or else some "Western friendly" Asian countries that China would be hostile to.
I think Xi may care more about the geopolitics & defence/military aspects of it than the impact on the Chinese economy. Iran is a Chinese ally in the ME and I think China has been helping them bust sanctions for years. IMO they could be reluctant to send their navy to hammer Iranian proxies and friends + destroy weapons that the Iranians spent good money on.
Did they previously say they were sending ships to counter the two carrier strike groups the US sent to Israel and the gulf
Did not see anything about that. Seems unlikely to me for many reasons, unless it is done purely as a silly optics/propaganda thing, where they would send a small number of ships that in no way balance a US carrier group (or 2)!
edit: They roused themselves to condemn the attacks on shipping in last day or so (see below) but it is very weak really.
https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/us-partners-reiterate-call-end-houthi-attacks-red-sea-2024-01-04/
They won't be very happy about people looking for alternative routes...
Houthi's got hold of unmanned water drones now.
Sri Lankan navy sending a ship to the Red Sea now.
They sent 6 ships to the middle east when the US announced the Ford and Eisenhower Carrier groups were being sent ,
Not that 6 ships vs 2 full Carrier strike groups and various Arlie Burke destroyers is going to do much good ,it's a 5 minute game of Battleships
There are loads of links to choose from, here is one.

They didn't improve it which is what you claimed, they made a fibreglass copy,
