It isn't idle speculation. You came on pointing out that Melanias mother was sick so all those that had been questioning her absence from events were low.
It was pointed out that far from the gotcha you want it to be it yet again shows up that Trump cares nothing for anyone but himself.
That anyone would leave their distressed wife, suffering as her mother suffer through a serious illness, to go to a party is pretty bad. And what makes it worse is that Trump didn't need to. Unlike many people, who are forced by work to be separated from their loved ones, Trump could easily have been at her side.
He chose not to. And instead of simply putting up with the natural talk about where Melania is, he decided to put her sorrow and her mothers health, in to a speech. And that can only be to make himself look better.
Could you ever see yourself doing the same? That you simply leave your wife or partner to go party? Whatever about your opinions on Trump, I don't believe that the majority of people would be that callous and uncaring.

I don't think suggesting that she doesn't want to be close to a rapist is a particularly horrible comment. Who would want to be close to a rapist?
Especially when you take into account that the rapist cheated on her when she was pregnant, and by all accounts smells terribly.

It's well understood that Melania and Donald have what can barely be described a marriage. They supposedly sleep in separate beds while the tears shed when her husband was confirmed winner in 2016 were scarcely those of happiness. And should we dredge out all the "hot mic" moments where she basically reacted in a "JFC get away from me?"
I don't buy into tabloid tattle but once more it's an affectation of superiority to tut over the not-very-outrageous suggestions the Trump marriage is a trashfire. When it comes to Donald Trump, everything is on the table cos the man is a cartoon and a vulgarian who presents his life as a commodity. Thus it is assessed as one.
And I'd certainly hope our resident, supposed "centrist" would also claim to have been similarly appalled by the thinly disguised racism directed at Michelle Obama throughout her time as First Lady. Cos the dumping on her truly had no merit beyond dog whistles.

You started the conversation, with the clear view that this proves that the speculation about her absence was low, and when the less favourable pov was raised - not about Melania or her mother - you got all stroppy about it.

Reality shows us yet another Trophy Wife with limited English who likely only married him for a portion of his wealth (or the appearance of wealth). A man who can’t stay committed to a single woman, let alone get their consent in many cases, and a woman for whom the novelty of being with Trump wore off long ago and seemed to only share public spaces with him when required, but otherwise did her best to stay well away from him. They are clearly married on paper alone, and her absence from a party with him is just another sign of what we already know. Only the MAGA Faithful would tie themselves in knots to try to argue otherwise.
