One of the reasons that Putin was elected after Yeltsin was that he promised to take care of Pensioners, and since then they have generally stuck by him through thick and thin, and up to his invasion of Ukraine, he had generally looked after them too (they were also very susceptible to any Hitler / NAZI propaganda) But now as the financial pressures caused by the war have increased, so has inflation and the large drop in value of the ruble, and no increase in their pensions. Some of them are looking back on the USSR as the good old times when you didn't need cash. Unless these pensioners have family and friends to look after them now, they will have a very hard time this winter. You see very well how Putin has hidden the real cause of the war from them. Now it cannot be denied that there's a real war going on, but it's not Russia's fault, they were attacked and are trying to defend Russia. This perception is shared by several of my Russian friends. Some, who are not blind understand very well what's happening, but are powerless to change anything, and some for their own reasons, are in agreement with Putin. in present day Russia, that's prudent position to take.
The west needs to get real with Russia
Another 'friend' of Putin has fallen to his death from a high window. Must have been a blind spot to haven't seen it coming.
Note to Bill Gates: Do not travel to Russia as the possibility of suffering a highly ironic death is just too high.
When we talk about these 'mysterious deaths' is the alleged motivation for them consistent across the board, i.e. opposed to the Ukraine war?
And yet at the UN
Children now no Bombing each other's cities,
Play nice ....
Land and money control is a high factor among those being murdered by being thrown from buildings by Putin's death squads.
Stay in a single story or the ground floor. Keep away from any window or it could be curtains for you..
And where speaking out or worse, protesting will get you a fast-track position in Donbass.
They only criticized Russia so they'd have a reason to criticize Ukraine. Evil bastards.
Welcome to the the civilised world according to the UN ,
But on a more positive end of year note, after all the semi (and 100% ) negative publicity about how its going for Ukraine., a good ray of sunshine.
(1) (((Tendar))) on X: "The Battle of Avdiivka is still very much ongoing, but if Ukrainians continue to play their cards as they did in the last 2.5 months, then it can already be assessed as an operational victory for Ukraine. I have been posting about it since early October and when the initial… https://t.co/EeeqXga4uW" / X (twitter.com)
Turns out it was Russian interception missles that landed on their own city!
Da true that
What ever happened to Lucky Lukashenko? He was being quoted a lot in this thread for the first 18 months of the war but has been very quiet since the Prigozhin affair.
Have things gone cool between himself and Putin since the attempted coup?
He is busy mocking Putin over eggs and return of soviet style queues
There's an old Irish saying, " The nearer you are to the Boss the nearer you are to the door" ( or in this case, the window)
Ukrainian Naval drones now equipped with rockets,
Happy new year
Excellent production. And if you look carefully in the background, you can see a big elephant in the room
The mouth of Sauron made an appearance
Well they're enjoying themselves alright... Rome burned whilst Nero fiddled etc
Invoking a WW2 slogan. "Our cause is just, victory will be ours" Well they are using old equipment so it fits..
First HIMARS hit?
Seen this earlier,
It's possible still don't think it's been confirmed, it's odd it was out in the open without any additional protection on its own ,
Police in St.Petersburg used the local new years celebrations as an opportunity to filter out non residents and migrant workers for conscription in the military. Thousands were captured according to the article.
Wait I thought Russia didn’t use cluster ammo and Ukraine were the baddies for using them?
Solicitors and the judiciary in Russia will lose their free motor fuel allowance if they ignore the Kremlin's call to ditch foreign made cars by the 1st of january 2024. This looks to be the first in restrictions being imposed if they don't convert to Lada, UAZ, Moskvitch and Aurus, as well as the Chinese carmakers Evolute and Haval.
Hyundai have lost $219 million after being forced to sell it's St.Petersburg plant for $78 to Art Finance. This comes after Volkswagon were also forced to sell all their interests in Russia to Art Finance including their factory in Kaluga. Russia has now become the most self isolationist land mass on the planet.
Russia uses some. Ukraine used some at the early stages of the war.
Decoy?
