whether it is the whole middle east or not who knows but the only way to guarantee their security is to get back within their borders as set out in 1948.

ultimately as much as i believe nuclear weapons are a technology of a bygone era, not only is it the case that if some states can have them then so should iran, but iran, never actually going to use them, will provide some counterbalance to israel which is needed to keep israel in check.
the EU is generally mostly honest and doesn't need a counterbalance, and even if it did, russia would be the last country who could provide it.

Quite something to paint Japan as a victim of the Pacific war. A war they started and some estimates say Japan killed as many as 30 million civilians.
Given the rhetoric coming from certain politicians and leaders i would guess it is highly probable they have made a nuke by now. Israel has not tested or declared they have them so no need for Iran to.

The US has supplied arms to terrorists around the world for decades but haven't handed out nukes so far, no reason to think Iran will.
Usually terrorists aren't able to maintain or use complex weapons, as they don't have the resources or infrastructure.
But that was the past. It's a new era now. With countries giving out low tech drones like smarties, terrorists are using them, and now have a simple delivery system for all sorts of payloads.
These countries have no issues with using all sorts of weapons on each other and have done so. For example Iran-Iraq war.
Much of the unrest in the region is from these countries fighting a proxy war against Israel using such groups. You'd be naive to think they won't let it escalate. Even in this war they took advantage and tried to escalate the conflict on other borders and continue to do so.

What possessed you to type that? Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen & Iraq are all still active conflict zones with nothing to do with Israel.

The USA **has** used nuclear weapons.
There's long been a reasonably credible theory that Israel tested their bomb with South African assistance in 1979. Apartheid states sticking together. The Vela incident and the circumstances surrounding it are very interesting.
Current thinking is that Israel has about 300 warheads (estimates vary from 80-400). Which puts it in a par with France or UK. It's also very likely that Israel operates a nuclear triad, with missiles in the Negev, some air launched available to the Air Force and tube launched Cruise missiles in the Med in their subs.
Iran is widely believed to have enough fissile material on hand for 3 warheads in the immediate term and has production capacity for more.
The continuing Israeli action and aggression in the ME could well be part of a strategy to force an Iranian reaction. If Iran trips that line? Israel and indeed the US will both strike IMO. It gives the US an immediate excuse to deal with and blunt Iran in the medium term. Allowing it more time and resources to focus on China. It gives Nethanyahu a war that will keep his government in place longer and keep the awkward questions about Egyptian warnings & IDF intel pre 7/10 at bay a while longer.
