It's more a case of people have moved on from Ukraine and moved on to the next trendy hashtag , unfortunately it's what happens these days, attention has moved to elsewhere a lot of media outlets went from having a tab specifically for Ukraine updates to very few having daily updates, just look at the likes of England since the October 7th Hamas attack on Israel, hundreds of thousands protesting week in and week out without fail we didn't see that two years ago or 10 years even when the Ukraine war started
I have just heard , FOR THE FIRST - on the RTE news this evening the number P alistinians killed to date in Gaza AS REPORTED by the Hamas authorities. Up till now RTE just gave us the numbers killed by Israel in Gaza to date and not stating its source.
on the other hand the various UK news outlets always state the source of the numbers killed and that Hamas is a terrorist organisation by the Uk Gov
I don't think so, from the reports it wasn't a supersonic missile, so that rules out an AA missile, especially seeing as how it entered and exited Poland over a 3 minute period.
If it was an AA missile (that went off course and somehow didn't auto destruct) it would be in a field in Poland and would have not have turned around flying back into Ukraine.
Once a AA rocket motor burns out any turns it makes just kills it's speed, which is why fighters notch to evade them.
Both RTE and Irish Times have the Ukraine strikes on the front page, though. IT have both as "top stories". So I don't know who gets distracted.
Meanwhile, while Putin is busy drinking blood or whatever it is he does in Kremlin for fun
Zelensky is busy visiting his troops 2km from frontline in a town that meant to have been captured by Russians according their propaganda

Russia has been doing in Syria, for ages, what Israel is doing in Gaza*. No outrage from the U.N., and no thorny interviewing of Russians on Sky News about it though.
*But Russia is deliberately targeting civilians and children. Russia went to the U.N. and got a list of the locations of all hospitals in Syria and them proceeded to bomb them.
More killed in Syria as well and very little mentioning of it especially when the Russian Airforce Bombed over 100 civilians hospitals and that before you get to schools bakeries and clinics
Where was Guterres or his equivalent?
Nah more likely because the numbers coming out of Gaza (and Hamas reported or not the absolute numbers are accepted by everyone) make the Ukrainian numbers look piddling by comparison. It would probably be different of the Ukr. numbers included all the casualties of the fighting rather than just civilian but they don't, so yeah
Both him and ban ki moon were busy listening to Lavrov and co telling the security council they were bombing terrorists in hospital beds ,,
Just like when the worlds media including Western media ran the story about Israel bombing a hospital killing thousands according to hamas when it was a Hamas rocket that hit a car park and sparked a fire ,
Almost setting off the whole of the middle east
Why couldn't it? Is it not an advantage for Russia if they can use other people's airspace in the flight path to attack targets in Ukraine from different directions and make the job that much tougher for air defences?
They know these countries won't dare shoot these Russian drones and missiles down themselves ("escalations", "provoking Putin" etc.) if the militaries are even awake and detect them so they are likely safer while in NATO airspace than over Ukraine.
IMO the Eastern NATO members affected by spillovers of Russia's drone/missile war on Ukraine are petrified to respond (not sure if I blame them, given I know what Ireland would do in their place) and they just hope it all goes away or stops somehow if they can studiously ignore it hard enough.
Quite the opposite to been petrified.
Since Romania stated that they would shoot down any missile or drones that enter there airspace there has been no Russian breaches of there airspace since.
Polish airspace on the Ukraine border is a different kettle of fish.
Unbelievable amount of military aircraft and drones in this airspace at any given time. Most with transponders off.
Polish airforce military would need to be 100% sure of what they are going to shoot down.
So the missle flew across the black sea and across Ukraine and onto Poland only to preform a U-turn and fly back into Ukraine,
The question should be asked this is the third or fourth time this has happened and yet Poland's air defences didn't react , people are calling for Nato to do something but why hasn't Poland's air defences stopped any of these missles
Have to admit I didn't think of potential "busy-ness" of the Polish airspace.
Was unaware Romanian govt. had said that. Any source?
I think I remember they complained to Russia about the Shaheds flying about near their border, but thought they were still trying to ignore it (vs shooting at them) and construct shelters to protect people living in the area affected by the debris/wayward Russian drones.
How to become an Orc
This is one of many sources
Actually this time they did react,
The missile was tracked entering transiting and exiting Poland.
Both by air and ground radar, both polish radar and neighbouring countries radar and deployed nato radar.
It was even tracked by two fighter jets in the area that were redirect to intercep .
Amy update onnthat Russian bomber from earlier ?
Nothing from what I can see, at least nothing concrete. Bryansk and Belgorod are apparently taking a pounding today however, possibly in retaliation against Russia's large strike last night.
It went from practically being celebrated on most social media page's to nothing, possibly just a rumour, considering how quite it went
Drone strikes on Bryansk
Another mention of the bomber
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/12/30/france-russia-interference-far-right/?
“ The Kremlin documents, obtained by a European security service and reviewed by The Washington Post, show that Sergei Kiriyenko, the first deputy chief of staff in President Vladimir Putin’s administration, has tasked Kremlin political strategists with promoting political discord in France through social media and French political figures, opinion leaders and activists.”
I know the timescales are different, but your characterisation of Ukrainian casualties as "piddling" is nonsense. The civilian deaths in Marioupol alone must be almost as many as in Gaza, and many tens of thousands ofUkrainian military deaths have occurred. Overall, there appear to have been over 100,000 deaths in the Russian war on Ukraine, and some estimates are well above that.
You were not talking about Mariupol though were you, but the most recent attacks.
I'm talking about the overall number of deaths caused by Putin's war, and the comparative lack of outrage when compared with Gaza. And Ukraine did not kick the war off by attacking and killing Russsian civilians en masse.
And in case anyone wants to score a point, yes, Netanyhu's policy is outrageous, a view share by many Israelis.
Counterattack on Belgorod
That doesn’t matter cause Ukraine is corrupt or Nazi biological weapon labs/ American coup something something and they are led by a comedian and it’s part of Russia anyway and sure they are all violent over there anyway and NATO expansion.
Nice shot
Russia running to the UN demanding action over Ukraine retaliatory strikes today in Belograd. The fcuking cheek of those murdering orcs.
Russia's mission to the United Nations in New York said it had requested a meeting of the Security Council which would begin at 4 p.m. (2100 GMT).
