Ya really good, different taste to the restaurant cooked but for €5 you couldn't get a half decent frozen pizza for that.
oh wow are the bake at home good?
Love the place, my kids do too. Constantly dropping in for a few of the bake at home pizzas too.
Tried Sano Pizza for lunch yesterday (Parnell Place) and was very impressed. Tasty pizzas done well and speedy service. Nicely designed space with friendly staff, and as others said, very well priced!
It was missing a nice Chinese but I don't think Tung sing is that.
^^ Christ... 🤢
Tung Sing opening a stall in the Marina Market
Tried here last week. Really not great. Nothing tasted fresh or made in-house and it seemed rather expensive for what it was, campared to other Asian restaurants in town. For instance, the new Japanese, Reiwa, is cheaper and better tasting.
It is a name and a slot means "to read" as it was the first word said by Allah in the Koran.
I suspect Iqraa is the chef.
Has anyone tried Khyber Grill on Pope's Quay yet? The 2 reviews on Google Maps were positive.
I might take a visit soon, and will report back if I do.
P.S.: Does anyone know the meaning of the term Iqraa's? I assume it's not related to Iqraa's on Washington Street (I'm not a fan)! It must be a more general term?
"Fresh Food, Safe Food" 👌
Anybody knows what's up with The Sultan down at Penrose Wharf? We passed it last night at around 9.50 pm and it was all dark and looked closed (supposed to be open till 11.30).
Chicken tacos from Hana Korean BBQ in the Marina Market. Very tasty and plentiful.
€12.50
in the EM - served hot - but you can buy them frozen - to take home
but yes also in black market too - served hot with seating
They are in the black market too.. Near Pairc ui Chiomh.
Do they serve them hot, or can you reheat them at home? There aren't much seating options around the EM.
Sort of related, but I had a Christmas quesadilla in the Black Market recently (The Burrito spot) and it was absolutely delicious.
Craving another one now!
Actually ended up going to Joes + Bros. It's my go to place for my toasted sandwiches. Wasn't sure if they were doing a Christmas special so I checked when I was passing. They are doing the regular turkey, ham, stuffing, cranberry and also a spiced beef one. Got the turkey one. It was good in fairness- I got it on sourdough instead of ciabatta. €12.90 with the side. Thinking I'll try Grumpy Baker next.
not a restaurant as such but we are adoring the pies from The Pie Guys in The English Market... top notch stuff.. the pickled veg and slaw sides are delicious also - pies are unreal
Starters are around 10e and mains 28/29
We were passing there last night and saying we will definitely go there soon, I've never been and my friends haven't been in ages, is it very pricey ?
People are going to think I either own it or work there at this rate but another great trip to pigalle Friday night! I can never fault the place. Everything is divine there and the service is so good.
Where did you go in the end??? I had the one from Sonny's deli during the week and it was delicious but that was no good to you today. Put me in mind to try a few more though...
Certainly over capacity for customer comfort, anyway.
I’ve a craving for a Christmas sandwich today. Has anyone tried any of them around town? Paperboys, Grumpy Baker, Griolladh. Am I missing anywhere?
Eco would be positively spacious in comparison. A couple of our party had been there (Bocelli) on several occasions and said that they had definitely put in a lot of extra tables. Hard to explain but it definitely looked like it was over capacity.
When you look at how many people can legally be allowed in a bar or club, standing, I can't imagine any restraunt with people seated at tables being over their legal limit.
But, yeah, being crammed is is, usually no fun. Reminds me of Eco.
Went to Bocelli tonight for dinner with a few friends and I have to say it was a really bad experience. The place was rammed and I genuinely mean that, you couldn't move. We were a party of 5 and were seated at a small table for 4 down the back next to two large groups. The noise levels were so bad that you couldn't have a conversation and had to shout to be heard. At one table someone had to go to the bathroom so about six people had to get out of their seats so that she could get out and again when she came back. We left after the main course as we just couldn't stick it. I did complain to the manager on the way out and he just stated that we could have asked to move tables but there wasn't a free table in the place so I've no idea how that would have worked. I firmly believe that they were well over legal capacity and whilst I'm aware that the hospitality industry is not in great shape at the moment and this is the season where they can make a bit of money this was just a stretch too far. I dread to think what would have happened in the event of a fire. Food was ok, I didn't particularly like mine but I'm not a fan of Italian food anyway so I'm not best placed to judge and the others liked theirs. Waitress was nice and to be honest I felt a bit sorry for the staff as they were run off their feet.
Definitely would not return.
I noticed that some time ago, too. It's hard to figure out the reasoning behind it!
No prices on Quinlan's menu outside the door. Very annoying. Who do they think they are? 5 Star Michelin spot in Paris?
Was starved but said feck that and walked away. Why would you bother.
