This thread is now seven years old, and people have been saying the exact same thing for those seven years.
Whatever the reasons for the recent uptick in listeners, changing the music is not one of them.
Still the best FM station in Ireland by some distance.
Think its Kieran McGuinness show on a Sunday evening. Caught it a few times lately but he plays a great range of music.
What happened to the latest Nova Noise? Was it won? I can't see anything on the website about it and there's no mention of it on Radio Nova.
Parked till the new year while they bring out the find the Christmas elf competition.

Did anybody hear the Lily Allen version of "Somewhere Only We Know" around 2 today? Been looking through their playlist in irishradiolive.com and apparently they played it.

They dig that out at Christmas, years back I remember Marty Miller saying that Lily Allen on Nova is just for Christmas.
Is there a proper rock and metal show on these days, with an actual live presenter that you can text requests into?
Radio in this country always ends up catering to the same people.

The world is depressing enough as it is, to my horror, this morning I've discovered Planetrock is no longer on the sky box. My weekend routines are ruined.
A bit of digging and it seems Bauer have removed all their stations from the Sky platform as they deem the listenership to be too low vs the cost involved.

They're very fickle about what they play. Never play Simply Red but no problem with Simple Minds (the two bands are not all that different). Hardly ever play Rory Gallagher but Thin Lizzy are alright. No Stevie Ray Vaughan but happy enough to play Tom Walker.
They do have some strange choices alright. Ho hey gets a fair few spins a week and I wouldn't think of that as a nova tune.

If you're looking for simply red, switch to sunshine 106, who play them regularly!
They're not as different as you think, both are very housewife-friendly.

What's the reason for him leaving, he had a good music knowledge and his presenting style was refreshing in the sense that he's wasn't a bland generic radio voice.

I always remember the time when Dee and Marty "slept in" and they put on two young ones to take their place. This pair called them live on air and woke them up but I wasn't having any of it, sounded very stunt-like.
By the way, LiveDrive is the name of Dublin City FM's drivetime slot, whereas Nova's is Nova Drive.
