Closing date for initial applications is 17/11/22.
The information Booklet for the Open competition is below, if you need to refer to it at a later stage in the competition.
Best of luck everyone!
Depends on the department and numbers ...etc but well done on coming 2nd Id hazard a guess and say you have a strong chance..... Best of luck..
Thank Res, how are you getting on? Have you been assigned yet?
Many thanks, the role was in EIT of the NSSO. If one or more positions were available it was not specified and I have checked the booklet again. It is just a waiting game I suppose, Im just more reserved as it was for a specific role and not an open HEO role that covers other HEO roles also. Best of luck with your application also, definitely a good role to get into having reviewed the job booklet that was shared in this thread.
HI All,
I was successful in the recent interviews in Dec and have placed 23 in the open list. What is the likelihood of being given a role from this do you think? And what do you feel the timeframe for this would be if so. Im not used to CS recruitments. Thanks.
Congrats. What location did you choose? If Dublin you will definitely be called
Hi. Thank you. Yes this is for Dublin. This process is all very new for me as have always worked for NGOs.
i dont think they do as InterD is only for existing civil servants
Folks,
Any of ye know if you get assigned to a Dept on an InterD is it that date that you become AP or the date the Dept appoints you to a position?
Hello,
I was told I was successful for the open steam on the 19th.
Does anyone know how long it typically takes to be contacted next by PAS, re. vetting etc.?
First day you start the new job
Anyone know the likelihood, on a national specialist panel, of being offered a position down the country despite living near Dublin? Do they consider your location when offering you a position?
You give two locations at application stage and you won't be considered for a position in any location, other than the ones you have chosen.
For this particular competition, I wasn’t asked for a location preference at all.
As far as I'm aware this used to be the case but is now considered discriminatory to rule anything out from before 2-3 years, given the unfairness of expecting people to give recent examples when they might, for example, have been out of the workplace caring for children. I have definitely used examples going back longer than a couple of years for successful CS interviews.
Hopefully this is now the case. I had an AP interview in Dec 2022 and a really strong example from summer 2018 was dismissed and they looked for a more recent example.
Can anyone give me a rough idea how long it takes for an offer once preclearance begins? I'm OOM 12 for Dublin. Thanks
next batch of interview dates have been notified to candidates scoring less than 108 for stage 2 - week beginning 22 January
I'm 107 on OOM and I've an interview on the 29th Jan. Can anyone tell me what are the stages after that? Is it just preclearance then and offer? Also, what's the timeline for this?
TIA all!
Is that for Dublin? Did they give a shortlist number cutoff point above where they're calling or it's everyone under 108?
Hi I have applied for Dublin only. Stage 1 result/score 1070s. My stage 2 result is 105,
Interviews for those scoring above 108 were in Dec 2023
Interviews scheduled for week of 22 Jan (scores of less than 108). You can email aprecruitment@Publicjobs.ie to check if see if this group has been divided further.
I interviewed on 12th Dec, results on 19th Dec, heard from preclearance on 2nd Dec & received provisional offer today 5th. Moving so fast!
Hi Swilly
Do you mind me asking if you are on the open or interdepartmental stream?
I received my results same time as you but have yet to hear from preclearance
Hi Lauren. I'm on both. This is an InterD offer. Best of luck. Hope you hear soon
Thanks for that, so prepare for things to move fast!!!!!
I put down Cork no 1 and Dublin no 2. At what stage do I find out which location they will offer me? Not until the job is actually offered or after I get results/sometime during preclearance?
That I don't know as Dublin is my only location. They told me Thursday I'd be getting an InterD offer first and could not give a timeframe for an offer in the Open Stream. A day later I received a provisional InterD offer with 2 working days to decide. Definitely prepare for things to move fast.
When you get your results after the interview / strategic exercise stage, you will be given an order of merit for whatever locations you applied for. I interviewed back in December, got my results on 19th and was lucky enough to have passed, however I was only given an order of merit for my second location choice of Westmeath. I didn't realise it at the time, but my second round score would have only put me in the current batch of interviews for the Dublin region, so I'm waiting for an order of merit number for that.
Two working days 😱😱😱😱 Okay that's a great heads up, thanks to you both!!!!
So they allow people to apply for both interD and open stream if you're already working in the civil service? What's the thinking behind that?
@Onion87 if an individual meets the requirements of a competition (or competition stream), then they may apply for it.
If they qualify for both the InterD and Open streams of a competition, and choose to apply for both, then that's all above board.
Some people already serving may not be able to apply for both in certain competitions; for example, if they don't meet the educational requirements of a stream.
Thanks, I'm completely new to this, so just trying to get a grasp of how it works.
