Thanks folks, hopefully I’ll get called in the new year 🤞
Hiya, Interviews ending today, when should they hope to hear the results?
I emailed on Wednesday and was told early Jan. I'm still holding out hope of hearing by next Friday though
Finger's Crossed!!
My interview board told me to expect to hear one week after interviews finished, so I am also hoping we'll hear this week.
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows when to expect a new open to external AP competition, do they come around often? If the last was in 2022, could I expect one in 2024? I'm currently working in a Local Authority but would like a move to the Civil Service..
Yes, you can probably expect a new competition in the second half of 2024.
How’s everyone doing on the run up to Christmas? I’m not hearing much movement on the open stream right now in terms of clearance/offers. Do you think there’s a slow down until the new year?
👋 I was interviewed at beginning on Nov. Haven’t heard anything yet. I’m guessing early Feb. I was OOM 6 but they told me there were 13 people ahead of me as people from the last batch still needed to be placed
I was 5th on the open panel when I contacted them two week ago (Batch 2.2) and am still waiting, they're getting through them, it's just slow.
Oh really, you must be one of the 13 they said was ahead of me. When were you interviewed? I think I was in batch 3.1. It’s v confusing
So I just emailed and they told me they’re still working their way through batch 2.2 open stream and there are now 9 ahead of me. (I was OOM 6 in batch 3.1). I asked the same question about 2.5 weeks ago and they said there are 13 ahead of me.
I interviewed September 14th.
Well it should be v soon for you, as I’ve just emailed them and it seems there are just four left in your batch and they seem to have called 4 in the last 2.5 weeks
I interviewed in Oct for the AP _ ICT - came 2nd and still waiting to hear - and the panel is expiring in April ! Nobody in PAS can tell me why they created a new panel in October (18 month expiry) and then there are no jobs - very frustrating
Results are out for batch 3.2. Delighted to have passed.
Congratulations! That's great news.
Best of luck to all that were interviewed.
Well done
Is the OOM just for that batch or do the results get combined and your OOM is for the full panel at that location?
PAS has received the reference from my current employer, so just wondering how likely it is I’ll get an official offer/start date this week?
I received my interview results. I didn't get through. I am afraid the nerves got the better of me on the day and despite the panels attempts to calm me down and pry the answers out of me, I fumbled the ball. Best of luck to all who have gotten through. It was a tough run, I am glad I know how it works and I look forward to trying again in the next round. Thanks to all who commented on this forum, I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and some good news in the new year.
Sorry to hear that. I've been there before. Definitely a very tough process but you have the experience now to go again with more confidence. Best of luck!
Hi, what was your standing after the first exam. Score, OOM. Etc
Been told my clearance is being handed over for final checks today - how long does this normally take? Was hoping to receive an actual offer by the end of the week but seems more and more unlikely
I scored 1086 and was OOM 571 after Stage 1 on InterD. Stage 3 Interview and strategic analysis exercise passed this month.
Cheers for the info. Sounds difficult.
Was that placing for Dublin
Hmmmm interesting. I recently applied for a public sector job, but unlike the usual national campaigns on PublicJobs, it was a direct application for a Higher Executive Officer role. As I'm new to this process, I've been trying to understand how it works. It seems that this type of competition is different as it is used for multiple different roles in various areas nationide. Although I placed 2nd in the selection process, I'm beginning to wonder if I'll receive an offer for the position which is most likely not as the person in 1st would be offered the role. All that was mentioned to me was that the panel will be utilised to fill the position in question and that the current, immediate, post has been offered to the candidate placed first on the Order of Merit and should a further post arise the HR team will contact you directly.
Brilliant well done
Do not give up!!! Its a really tough process and competition. You will gain from this experience definitely for sure. Best of luck next time.
