Weird that I didn't see a thread about this, I know there were posts in the PS5 thread but surely it deserves its own.

Will anyone be getting it? Early reviews are very promising and as someone who doesn't get as much gaming done as I would like it looks perfect. The kids can have the TV while I play on the portal.

I think the Portal is better. The screen is bigger so it's a less diminished experience, and the controls are more comfortable.

Performance is pretty much the same. Chiaki4deck has now added HDR support so on the OLED it looks nice. But the portal screen is also pretty good. Better than the deck LCD, not as nice as, but also not miles behind the OLED.

I've one tab open with Smyths and another with Currys and I check as often as i can! You could chance your arm and go in to either of them and ask, if you're local, but YMMV

Limerick ennis road, there were some showing in stock in Limerick parkway at the time but were gone too fast, so the missus went into ennis road smyths on a whim and they had 1 left, even though none were showing on the site. Think smyths are out of stock till January.

I have one on the way from amazon and currys. I tried cancelling the currys one but got a dispatched email saying its on the way. So iam waiting on 2 too arrive Monday or Tuesday hopefully. I was just gonna return the currys one to a store when it arrives but iam happy to help someone out.

I got a case on amazon, it does the job perfectly. I wouldn't leave it out on a stand or anything, my son would have it ruined in minutes.

I googled for a case to carry both, found a few on Temu but I don't trust those sites at all. If you search "PS Portal and Explore carry case" you might find something.
