Clearly people need loads of tayto crisps, my local was cleaned out of two pallets at 11:30 this morning and my mate that works there said people were waiting for the shop to open to grab them
I'd say half the publicans in the country were queuing up outside Lidl this morning. I know one of my local ones brought two staff with him and they did two trips.
I like to think people buying this many are doing it for reasons other than to have loads of crisps, like for a staff funded Christmas party or a charity.
Aren’t these the mini bags ?
25g
anyone know if Lidl have any real trees left?
I was in Killarney this morning and thought I'd have no bother getting two boxes for half price at 11am. Picked up a half trolley of other stuff leaving room for the crisps but no sign of them. Asked the guy stacking the wine shelves where they were and he said they were gone since before 9am, there was over 15 people waiting outside for them before the shop opened. You'd have to wonder who else would be bothered.
Anyone else have the Lidl points system. I don’t have it myself and it’s only available in certain stores but just wondering is it being rolled out as a full time thing anyone know.
if they were sold in the pubs around here they would be thrown back
Don’t get too excited about the points system
That Tayto one day only "offer" today in Lidl was a total farce. Went to a few stores, all of them were gone, it wasn't like they sold out at 6pm, they were gone first thing in the morning. One pallet per store as far as I was told.
People were allowed buy 3 boxes, plus 3 free. When you see some of their rubbish offers limiting 1 per customer, this was an instance where it should have been implemented. And people abusing the system by going in pairs, like the post at the top of the page.
Shove your Petit Pois up your Pea H01€.
I don't get the point of these offers. It's to get customers into the shops then they let a couple of customers buy them all.
End result, many don't bother going in for these offers as they assume they'll be gone.
6 is too many.
But you had to scan the app to get the 6, surely anyone buying more than that would be paying full price for No. 7 upwards? If two people came in together both probably had the app.
No doubt Facebook will be full of selfies of people leaving with 6 boxes whilst wearing pjs happy out with their deal
That's what I'm saying. 2 people walk in, or a couple, and they can walk out with 12 boxes. Sure a pallet would be gone in no time at all. And how many boxes were on a pallet? 100? Probably significantly less. No doubt the boxes will be in stock tomorrow, when the offer doesn't count. It's very annoying.
Tuesday's offer
mad offers and really good…fair play to them !!
they are best before April 24 so ppl possibly stocking up..
My local had them today anyway
I wonder is it all going to be confectionary in the deals
Sunday's one was half price potatoes and clementines
Neither in stock where I went
The people in front of me def werent getting them for staff ... or for charity I'd guess either
I got the spuds this morning half price, just on regular offer. They must have left them at the reduced price where they didn’t sell out.
got the crisps too, mixed boxes were gone by 9.30
Of the 4 stores I looked in yesterday, only one (Drumcondra branch) had any. There were only a couple remaining yesterday evening, one of which was extremely dry-looking. The one I got is also quite dry and the needles are quick to fall off as I'm putting on the lights. Thinking of returning it but would be a bit of a hassle at this stage.
Other branches I tried were Coolock, Artane, and Omni Santry. Staff said they didn't think they would be receiving another batch of trees at this stage. Woodies Coolock were also out of trees.
Probably depends on the store. I went into my nearest (Dublin) store at around lunch time today to do a little shopping. While queueing to check out I looked at the app and saw the offer. Went back and there were loads of boxes available.
I bought my tree the day they started selling them(3 or 4 weeks ago).
To be honest it is a bit dry and loses needles easier than you'd expect but I'm happy enough overall.
Thanks, that's helpful to know. Gives hope that the tree won't be completely bald by the 25th.
those potatoes are half price now also
Lady in front of me this morning bought 18 toblerones, did 3 transactions with 3 phones ...
