Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
When they booked interesting acts, those didn’t sell out.
Waits for 2 Johnnies...
Few more
Jenny Greene nearly has a residency there at this stage. Along with the Coronas
Is Marquee happening in the same site? Passed it recently and looks like some work has started on site
The festival, which will mark its 19th year in Cork, will take place near the old site, at the former Tedcastle Oil site, for 19 nights.
They are really scraping the barrel this year with those announcements.
Hopefully get a few decent acts added.
Jesus this is abysmal.
They will all do the business though. Decent doesn’t sell 4,500 tickets in cork.
Kraftwerk and Pet shop boys both failed to sell out in recent years.
The announcements today are very uninspiring. International acts to be announced in the new year so hopefully there'll be an improvement.
I like Mick Flannery and Damo Dempsey but not sure they're guaranteed sell outs
We're an island where Scooter are still welcome, is anyone really surprised at this?
Damo will sell out, mick will do okay.
Pet Shop Boys was sold out for months but Aiken decided to hold back lots of tickets for some bizarre reason for it, similar with the National.
5k capacity just isnt going to be able to attract the big names anymore.
The Events Centre in Cork isnt viable in the current climate, Arenas in the UK are struggling, BAM are looking for more money again, Govt should just pull the plug now.
You really are an absolute spoofer!!!
Pet Shop Boys soldout well in advance!!!
Absolute bluffer you are!!!
i struggle to see how cork events centre will regularly book or sell 5,000 shows.
the 3 arena is not exactly busy with shows as is, and acts with 1 day in schedule for ireland will just take the Dublin show for more money and bigger capacity.
international acts that can sell 5,000 would have competing offers from other cities for more money and bigger capacity. They will simply concentrate on bigger markets.
like I’m sure Olivia rodrigo could do 2 or 3 nights in a 5,000 cap cork venue. But she has tons of other cities trying to book her for bigger venues and more money
It didn’t there was non resale tickets for sale the day of the concert.
Yeah don't know how event centre is still going ahead tbh. As much as I'd like acts that size to regularly gig in Cork not sure they'd sell. That said INEC does well but probably smaller venue
Absolute rubbish as I was looking for tickets on the day and only managed to get on down there a few minutes before it.
As I said.An absolute spoofer!!!
Bob Dylan

Pet Shop Boys
Just a tiny sample of the calibre of acts that have played Live at the Marquee.
This years lineup announcement is disappointing to say the least.
It will end up like the Arena they built in Aberdeen a few years ago.
It cost over 300m to build and it is struggling to attract any decent acts.
So ? holdbacks, alot of venues release tickets the day of the event.
Pet Shop Boys was sold out and it was a great show.
You could add these names too
Nick Cave
Art Garfunkel
Kanye West
Robert Plant
Slayer
Duran Duran
50 Cent
Lionel Richie
Dolly Parton
Lou Reed
MeatLoaf
Blondie
The Prodigy
Kenny Rogers
The Cranberries
Snoop Dogg
Madness
Erasure
Tom Jones
Westlife
Boyzone
Sting
Noel Gallagher
Eddie Vedder
Aiken just isnt taking anymore risks, its more profitable to put on these shows with local acts.
Its moving to a new venue on the Docklands, at a space opposite it's current site in a bid to increase capacity and concessions for the 2024 festival - a third move for the Marquee.
Peter Aiken confirmed that the Marquee will still be down the Docklands, at least for another three years, in a new location that allows for even more space for more bars and food stands - "a major facelift," he said.
Would just say the international acts for next year are to be announced in the new year. Will be better picture to judge then. But this year wasn’t great on the international act front
Only 10 acts to be announced. I'd be shocked if more than half of the acts left are international so reckon 4/5 max left international. If that's the case it's a quarter of total acts
Yes , if we get maybe 3 decent acts Id be happy with that, the lineup has been steadily declining for a long time.
Put slayer and the pixies on that list now
Eddie Vedder and Biffy Clyro too
When will Christy Moore and Imelda May be announcing there shows
Christy already announced his today.
Finally announced, but a mainly dull lineup, of 9 acts so far.
New site, which is across from existing site
