Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

I think Ryan Andrews' possible needs to keep schtum.
There are 4 types of actors "Grifter", "Lucky", "Talented" and "Waiting staff/Unemployed", I will let you all decide where Fair City actors appear in this list.
Ryan doesn't say how much he is paid, IMO the reporters should ask after all he is offering up this information, and if he doesn't want to divulge his wage then the article should state that.
Ryan character in Fair City (for those of you that don't watch) is one of the main characters. This means he's earning between 80k and 105k a year for 30 weeks work. This is a very generous wage.
The article says that he defends their wage by saying "it's not a level playing field for everyone at the station and what can seem like a high daily rate doesn't always amount to earning a fortune in the long run."
He says his co-stars in the series "can make less than the minimum wage for their work" but that is is "over a season." and he goes on to say "Actors on Fair City don't work 52 weeks a year so it is different" ... Yes Ryan it is different because that the type of job acting is many of your co-stars are "jobbing" actors and for most people who work in minimum wage jobs they have to work 48 weeks across the "season", many even do over time to top up their earnings.
"Some people only work 10 or 15 weeks. There can be a misconception" What misconception that for a 10 or 15 week run your not earning 40k a year, and you then get to work in another job during the other 42 weeks of the year.
The article then says "Away from his role on Fair City Ryan also runs his own acting school and is gearing up to star in the panto at the Olympia Theatre."
So Ryan as a Jobbing actor you get to
Seems to me you can do very well out of fair city and really you should keep schtum.
Anne Doyle has been a recent target of these kinds of ads, even though she retired in 2011.
I don't think the scammers put the kind of thought into the images they appropriate that you think they do. They're just looking for well known faces, and they switch between them.
They used Tubridy's last year, got what they could out of it, he called it out on his show (and it was covered in subsequent print and online media), and they moved on to other targets. That his face isn't currently being used in online scam ads isn't as significant as you make out.
In breaking news:
"Now it has emerged that Ryan will appear on Virgin Media TV later in the month.
The 50-year-old will be appearing in an upcoming episode of Dave Fanning’s music show Fanning At Whelan’s which recently returned for a new season.
While he won’t be talking about his upcoming career move, Ryan will reveal his six favourite songs and what they mean to him."
I'm gonna bet one of those songs is "Money for Nothing".

The broadcaster has not appeared on Irish screens since presenting his final ever Late Late Show back in May
In all fairness, that isn't accurate. He had a brief stint on Oireachtas TV in July.
Dave Fanning will interview him, on Ryan career after he dies Dave has written his views : -
"Ryan... ryan wasn't the type to get to grips with an interview like Gay Byrne, I mean you really cannot call him Gay Byrne, yeah he presented the late late show, but he let his career go, Gay Byrne was take for a ride by his accountant in the 80s, what did he do he asked for more money, Ryan asked for more money and never took a pay cut. He also wasn't all that good on the Radio, I mean he was no Gerry Ryan... I am not saying he couldn't have been Gerry Ryan but look at the listernship figure, fell over on 2FM, I think what Ryan will be known for is being really nervous when interviewing some stars, like I have interview stars for "The Movie Show" and for radio and I never let them get a word in, he seemed to let them bully him at times. I mean Ryan what can I say about Ryan, he wasn't Pat Kenny, I mean Pat Kenny could chew Ryan Turbriby up."
Notice that Tubs has slowly but inexorably slipped off the tabloid feeds. Not even worth a few clicks anymore.
Dave Fanning sounds bitter. Not displaced to be honest.
"Favourite album? I'd have to say best of the beatles?"
Astute. Say what you like about Dave Fanning, he has interviewed probably more very famous film stars and musicians than most of RTE's presenters put together and I never saw an interview where he was in awe of them. He was always very well prepped, knew his brief, had shedloads of research and plain old background knowledge to call on and he asked a lot of interesting questions. Fanning is curious and a real journalist, actually a far better option for the LLS after Pat Kenny than Tubridy ever was.
Ryan's choices for his six favourite songs:
Dave Fanning is talking about people as if they died 10 years ago, not the other day.
When does he start his radio show?
I agree Dave knows his stuff and is clearly interested. He did a show on 2fm around 7pm, he'd chat to the news reader about news, and the sports person about sport and even deal with some entertainment news, head to an interview, music. very much an all rounder. Always thought he should have done a Drive Time show against The Last Word, but with more music and aimed at Arts and Culture news.
Taking only songs from the Smiths -
And a bonus for the bould Dee -
The 4th of January, at 10 am.
According to the article, it coincides with his late Father's anniversary. A poignant day.
Ryan's Favourite Beatles songs;
And Your Bird Won't Sing
Toyman
While Noel Kelly Gently Weeps
With a Little Help from Fianna Fail
You're Going to Lose that Cushy Number
You've Got to Hide Your Money Away
Brilliant
Rather than start a new thread, seeing as it's been mentioned above.
What's the story with "Dave Fanning at Whelan's" on virgin media.
Doesn't he work for RTE?
Or when he's on air ...'HELP'
Hand in Glove (feat.Noel Kelly)
I'm guessing he is no longer RTE 'staff', so not exclusive to RTE, but is doing work for RTE and VM on a freelance contract basis.
He does but its been a show on VMTV for about 5 years, Dave hasn't done any TV work for RTÉ in a while. Is he still on RTÉ GOLD? The series is co-funded by the CnaM (aka BAI aka they get some of the license fee mullah to produce it).
Can't wait.
Fanning doesn't work for RTE. Or Virgin Media.
He works for Bebbak Ltd,, the production company he founded with his wife Ursula Courtney, though which he is contracted separately to RTE and Virgin Media. A bit like the way a plumber could do work on your house and a neighbour's house.
Edit: It should also be noted that Fanning at Whelan's received €285,000.00 in funding from the BAI's Sound & Vision 4 fund in 2021, which is funded by the TV Licence fee. Those who withhold their payment of the TV licence should remember that it's not just RTE that they're attempting to "defund", but quality programming on independent channels too.

Yes Fanning on RTE Gold - Saturday 6pm slot and also on Sunday there's a Fab 50 through the years retro series.
While we are on the subject RTE described the blizzards as one of the most exciting bands ever to come out of ireland
😂😂
The Sound and Vision Fund is a small part of the license fee it should be remember that the CnaM are RTÉ's authority and the CnaM might want to consider the governance and mismanagement of the National Broadcaster under there watch, which has lead to the fall out from the licence fee. RTÉ retain a massive amount of the Sound and Vision Fund, following by TG4 and then by VMTV, all of Radio is next.
Those in the industry may want to start asking RTÉ to hurry up fixing the mistakes they have made.
Me either. If someone had told me 12 months ago, I'd be eagerly awaiting Tub's first radio show after Xmas 2023, I'd have died laughing. Funny old world!
Keep thinking of that Seinfeld "seat filler" episode where Kramer gets to be a seat filler at an awards ceremony. A bit like Tubridy and the screening of that Crown episode in London. :)
Regards...jmcc
They're only the band U2 could have been :)
BAI funded Lucy Kennedy to the tune of €250k for some shite for Virgin, so that alone wouldn't have me rushing to pay my licence fee :)
