Tuam development group said the stadium will be finished. Seems a bit far fetched but you never know.
These look class. I think we should petition the county board to make this our away colours
"maroon and white for ever, I'll stick with what I know 🇱🇻🎶🎶🎶"
Team that played in Cork over the weekend
No thanks. I think there horrific. Maroon and white for me also
I think compared to the "streak" kits we've been getting lately, these look much more classy. We play in the maroon home jerseys much of the time anyway. Something like this in the "proper" colours if you insist would be a big step up.
Looks a bit Leinster Rugby esque.
Can't have a maroon and white away Jersey......
Why not, maroon sleeves and white torso 🤔
True. I think the current one is white after the notorious camouflage one. Not sure is this blue edition replacing the white version or in conjunction with in. Not that any of them are used very often.
Looks like a shite tipp jersey and no effing way am I wearing that. Maroon and white forever.
Or a Roscommon away jersey even worse. Same here. No way!!!!!
Funnily enough, the one high profile game it's going to be worn is against Wexford in championship, who's current changed strip (unless updated in future) is this
Scutter jersey.
Progress in Tuam.
Good stuff now sell salthill and have proper hurling and football stadia. Duggan park for the hurling. It might tempt the Leinster teams down just off the motorway.
Well done St Thomas. They had to dig deep at various stages and got a few breaks near the end of normal time but a brilliant win for them. They have had a frustrating time outside of Galway in recent years but this one hopefully makes up for the one they left behind against Ballyhale 2 years ago.
Congrats to Kilkerrin Clonberne ladies too. 3 club all irelands in a row is a significant achievement.
Don't tell me it's another "half stand" where you're dry in the back three rows and pissed from there down. They'd have been better off keep the money in their pockets.
I had thought that they were demolishing the entire stand and building a new one. Those pictures suggest that they are just putting a new roof on it. Or am I mistaken?
Need new seats, very outdated.
I'd have thought the roof would cover across the whole section with seats? So they'd have a stand extending most of the way across one side of the pitch?
Seems like what's in the photos there won't add a whole pile, it'll be a very small stand. Maybe that's all that a few hundred k gets you these days with building costs
Structure remains the same (as in the stone foundations) new roof (it should cover the seats or so I was informed), new seats (1500 seems quite small), new toilets and dressing rooms. Original plan to cover the new seats already in place needs further funding.
Biggest issue has turned to the stone seats which are now in a serious state of disrepair and may need to be cordoned off for H&S. Sports capital grand will probably be needed to rectify this rather than further development.
Entrance/exits (limited to two currently) means the GAA won't sanction a game where there is a possibility of an attendance greater than 10k.
Still progress.
Further progress on the roof.
They have scope to add 4 to 5 rows to the bottom of the stand and the rest of the stone seats should be demolished and the pitch width extended into it. Tuam was always a narrow pitch. That would bring the action close to the crowd and get rid of the unsightly seats at the same time. Place might have some shape to it then.
First team of the year. 4 starting from loss to Limerick.
The team for tomorrow evening
Conor Flaherty most interesting. Cillian Ò Curraoin next best. Plenty given chances. A lot of players from PJs stint as U20 manager. Like Mayo hard to know can a "team" become a "team" with realistically a couple months training together. Imagine performance could be a bit disjointed.
Plenty given chances, Billy Mannion looks a good bit of stuff, Flaherty good to see in, travelling more in hope than in any great belief this year... Hope the management have learned from their mistakes last year, and there were some basic ones, we went out with a whimper in the end, our leaders are gettin no younger, Comer just gone 30.. Walshe, Conroy... "It's now or never 🎶🎶"as The King sang wan time 😊✊ anyway 🇶🇦 for ever we'll stick with what we know.....
Conor Flaherty drops out of the panel completely. Oran Burke in goals. Flahertys clubmate Kyle Long now sub goalie.
Galway 2-18 to 1-17 winners. it was 0-10 to 0-9 at half time and Leitrim made it 1-17 each five minutes into injury with a goal. 1-1 without reply for Galway with the last two attacks of the match.
Galway's choice team meant to be playing Meath in a challenge this afternoon. Meath's 2nd choice team lost the O'Byrne cup semi final to Longford by a couple of points.
Any rumours on on the behind closed door challenge match against Meath went yesterday?
