Go around from BAW834
I witnessed both GA's. First seemed to be actually on the ground momentarily before powering up and climbing away. Second was atfer being caught by a truly massive gust of wind just as it started to flare, and again zoomed away. Initially said on radio that he wanted to divert to Manchester, but FR showed it heading to Scotland
Mr Depp perhaps?
WK34 from Zurich to Punta Cana https://fr24.com/EDW34N/3327c057
Edelweiss diverting.
AFAIK he’s been here for the past two weeks.
Now heading to one of the London airports, I'd say.
An Emerald ATR landed no problem it seems. These are b@stards in “weather”, but a very good experienced pilot can manage them to the permissible limit. Was on board one landing in Cardiff in extreme conflicting winds that tossed it into sudden yaws such as I never experienced before, and I doubted it would be able to get down, especially when it was side-slipped in wing-down rather spectacularly to a flawless touchdown. Awaiting wheelchair assistance, got talking to the lads up front who said they had two strong bands of wind opposing, but knew what they knew the vagaries of the approach and the aircraft very well.
Landing at LHR.
Lufthansa B789 diverting into Shannon at the moment, flight LH470 - medical.
I saw this plane over Galway bay a few minutes ago. Immediately thought it was weird to see a jet at that altitude on that flight path!
Jet2 took off very sharp right from Shannon, tracked out over the ocean and returned within about 30 minutes, stopping at the far end of the runway 🧐
edit - just did a speck of research, I see Jet2 do winter training flights here. Good opportunity today for rough weather operation.
FR24 shows that this 737 (G-DRTK) was in Shannon since 5 November (i.e. for maintenance). It departed for BHX just after 1900 this evening.
KLM1085 AMS-ORK pax are getting the run around today. Go around at ORK, go around at SNN and now lining up for the second attempt in SNN
3 divertions so far in Cork. Watched an Aer Lingus from Heathrow expertly manage to land. I wouldn't have wanted to be on it though.
Some fun at Dublin this evening
Surprised to see the triple 7 gone around, just shows the winds present.
This lad clearly going to Belfast after a go around at Dublin.
And again. Heard him passing over my house, v unusual sound caught my ear on the second pass.
Is anymore in the know about this?
Air space over county Wicklow is closed, for a period of days. Is it for military exercises?

I think that might have been a adsbexchange loading glitch. Pretty sure I saw the aircraft there when it was over Dublin, and the whole flight is available for playback https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=5082a8
