Really nice actually… on the outside it’s pretty much the same except for the new headlights… but there is definitely a more premium feel on the inside…
I had a play around with the indicators too, and I reckon a few hours/drives and you’d be well accustomed to them.
Are test drives available yet?
Not yet… Probably not until the 1st batch of RHD cars arrive in Q1 for deliveries… a few will be kept aside as test drive cars…
the one that was/is in Sandyford is LHD
Anybody got rear climate control screen like below fitted in their M3s?
I'm considering something similar, but haven't been able to justify it.
looked for a trade in value quote from Tesla for my 222 M3 SR. Toyed with the idea on swapping it for a new Highland.
well that won’t be happening. 26,600.
not spending 19k to come up 1.5yr
just sell it privately if you are looking to move up!
Tesla don’t want 2nd hand cars, even their own. Hence the low offer, which nobody takes them up on. Sell privately, or trade it in elsewhere against something else
I suspect many are upgrading from their current Model 3 to the Highland. Tesla have likely already got active trade-in offers for more cars than they want to take in during Q1 2024.
Hi Folks,
Having come from a BMW 530e I am only in my 221 model 3 a few weeks and honestly, it is such a wonderful car. I know i am preaching to the converted here, but really, it is a special car, doesn't have the same soundproofing of the BMW and would not be as comfortable doing Dublin to Dingle but its benefits far outweigh its small number of cons. For anyone looking for car charger info, I found pulsar wallbox to be excellent and their support from Barcelona also the same. Carcharger.ie did the installation for me and they were great
One small question, thinking of going to UK in the new year and I am nervous of getting a puncture, my BMW's always had runflats, has anyone bought a spare wheel for their car for journeys abroad, or has anyone experienced a puncture and how did they get on?
I carry a plug kit and a 12v compressor in the boot, and have successfully plugged 2 punctures in Tesla's.
I drove last summer from Dublin to Lithuania and back, and only had the plug kit & compressor with me.
a spare tyre, and jack, and wrench is a lot of extra weight to lug around...
Thanks Andy
Can you recommend a kit?
You could buy a spare 18” wheel from adverts.
Haven't charged for nearly a week, thought I would let my Model 3 RWD run down fairly low to get an idea of real world winter range for my typical driving. No motorways, all national and rural roads, with a lot of cold temperatures and very wet roads (Yesterday and today). Preheated car about 4 or 5 times for about 5 mins, which I find is long enough for defrosting and warming up interior. Includes about 40 km following a hearse at about 40km/h, plus many short trips. Otherwise speed limit where possible and heating/aircon.
100% to 10%= 320kms, gives a range of about 355kms (plus whatever buffer). Tbh I wasn't expecting as much considering the weather..
How do people handle fluctuating temperatures and tyre pressures?
I put air in my tyres a couple of weeks ago when it was 4C outside. I only went to 41 psi instead of 42 cos it was cold and I wanted to account for that.
Now the temperature has risen again and its reading 45 when driving.
Would people deflate slightly or am I overthinking this.
I maintain them. I top them up every other week using the 12v compressor if they drop below 40.
Thanks Gumbo.
How much would a spare wheel cost and am i looking for a tyre size or does that not matter? Is there a tool for taking the nuts off the wheel in the car or do i have to buy one?
If you go down the spare wheel route, then you’ll. red a jack, wheel brace with 21mm sized socket.
Im nearly sure I seen some sell for 180€. I lined one a while back for another poster.
Wheel and tyre but there doesn’t seem to be any for sale at the moment.
And if using a jack puck, you’ll also need a low profile jack right?
Agree with this. I hope I never have to change a spare wheel again. I also carry a compressor and if I get a puncture I just leave the nail or screw in the tyre and inflate to something high like 40 PSI and go straight to the tyre shop.
Hi all. Any recommendations for where to purchase new tyres for my SR+?.
It has Michelin Pilot Sport 4's on it at the minute.
Thanks
The cheapest online I found was Tyreleader.. (I bought 2 about 2-3 weeks ago) €429 delivered, and I'll get them fitted by my local tyre garage for about €15-€20 a corner. Took about 3-4 days for delivery.
You can save a few quid by getting the exact same PS4 but in non acoustic, but having done that before with 2 rear tyres, the additional noise was a lot more that I expected, so went back to PS4 T0 last time out, and same again this time (and the difference in noise when going back to T0 was very noticeable).
Thanks @AndyBoBandy Funnily enough my tyres are T1 (on it since delivery in 2021).
The T1 is just the next iteration up from T0 I believe, so I don't think there's much in it... main things are the seed and weight factors...
Thanks @AndyBoBandy

I posted this in the Tesla Talk thread, but worth a mention in this thread also as it is M3 specific.
Netflix's newly released film "Leave the world behind" about a major cyber attack on the US. There's a scene where new M3s complete with FSD (fresh off the boat I assume awaiting delivery) are hacked. Full scene in the link below.
