Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
Barracks is less than 5k usually as that limit before planning permission/licence needed.
This went from a maybe to a definitely....
I wonder why they didn't push Liam Gallagher for Slane like if you do the maths on it. 26000 three arena tickets sold, 25000 in Limerick and what does Belfast hold 20-30000 ? A decent support line up could have nearly sold it out
Cause those 25,000 in Limerick and 30,000 in Belfast might not travel to Slane.
also promoters have sunk costs of stages being built for Belfast and Limerick and need to use it to spread fixed costs across multiple shows.
Not irish or EU but Stadium rock is more alive than ever. Sometimes you'd forgot how big the USA is and the amount of 'markets'
The Killers have added a 3rd 3 Arena gig. Now 12th, 14th and 15th June
Shows that been playing here a lot means SFA
With special guests Travis
Well they play here a lot because they sell the tickets each time. No reason for that to change particularly when it's a "Greatest Hits" tour.
Wow. That's some support. Saw them in the Olympia a few years back and they were incredible live.
Suppose and will be a great show
Very good support, didn't listen to them in years. The 90s/early 2000s acts coming back with a bang
MCD presale have VIP tickets, what are these?
More expensive seats with “better view”. Usually the closest seats to the front of the balcony
Before general sale and all
I thought I got to sniff Brandon Flowers ☺🙈
The National, Future Islands, Barry Can't Swim, Jorja Smith and Bakar announced for All Together Now https://twitter.com/ATNfestival/status/1732810174786568218?t=Tj_j1QP37t7xdEIUMh2nzA&s=19
If you click on the ticket, there'll be a small blue radio button that displays next to it which outlines what each ticket includes.
E.g. The "Best Seat Package" included a tote bag, lithograph and bespoke gift.
It's essentially a way to hawk the best seats.
The singer being a whacky cult member and telling an occupied territory to embrace the invader is also grand.
Loads of people only buzzin to still be coming out of their cage I guess.
Well that's underwhelming for me. The National great there last time but would have rathered something new next Summer. Future Islands bore the **** out of me. The others not aimed at the likes of me. Boo.
Thats a pile of shite from ATN.
Think we'll be seeing this for another year or two
Not many arena level indie rock bands these days
Ah early days yet with the line up. I'm a big fan of The National but have seen them a lot including at ATN. Think Future Islands are a great live band personally but each to their own sure!
Fair enough, let the whole thing eat itself as far as I'm concerned. Scale down, put a bit of effort into finding interesting acts further down the ladder, put the 2 million you would have spent on Lana into improving the experience, into 10 brilliant lower profile artists. The festival industry, concert promotion in general is a runaway train at the top end. I've a pain in my hole with a lot of it. Keep it smaller and interesting. Easy to say when you're 53, I know.
A lot of people happy with the national, future island and Jorja.
and that article is a bit weird, Taylor Swift and the handful of acts that only play stadiums are simply too big for festivals these days
'Let there be rock' tomorrow
Yeah agree, don't think Chris Martin or Bruce say would be turning up at many a festival these days unless Glasto say. I think as well the bigger acts will naturally try sell one off big gigs if they can rather than get the share of a festival ticket. Only works with Glasto because of the sheer numbers that go to it.
Did Bruce do rock in Lisbon in 2016 ?
Remember there been a live stream of one his gigs a few weeks before the Croke Park shows
How are you gauging a lot?
Yes there's lots of people commenting because they want to win a competition.
All I see on Instagram is one person saying the national! And another talking about recycled acts. The rest are sharing for the competition.
6 postive posts on Facebook
Twitter has 3 postive posts under their announcement
Ratio ain't great
About a dozen positive on Fb, seen line up shared in WhatsApp and on social media with positive comments.
it will do the business. The national move tickets and Jorja smith is a good get
Rock in Rio Lisbon is a one stage “festival” with 80,000 capacity. That’s like calling Slane a festival.
