One retail that could possible do in town is a Lego store. The empty mcdonalds on Daut square could be. Potential.2nd store has opened in Dublin. Need to have things in the city to attract in shoppers that are not in mahon etc. The old debemhsms site really is the big problem now to tackle

Apartments for sale or private rental haven't happened in Cork for over 15 years. The reason is the high cost of delivery. This is a state scheme to drive more sustainable development patterns and reduce the cost to the end buyer. The funding to reduce the price applies at the point of sale so a significant funding and construction risk is still there for the builder. The fund applies to reduce the cost to the consumer. A better way would be to do away with some our ridiculous regulations and taxes to make them cheaper to build but I'd say you would be against that too.

Heard rumours Live at the Marquee already have a new site sorted, not sure if it’s this year or next they are moving. That surely means the apartment development will start at some stage over the next 12 months. Sunday Business Post today reporting that the Horgans Quay apartments are having a deal done with the LDA to start construction. A similar deal will be done between O’Callaghans and the LDA on Kennedy Quay. I also heard there is a further very interesting apartment development going for planning in the docklands in the first half of next year and possibly action starting on another site with planning approved. It could be a very busy few years ahead in the docklands.
