Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
or maybe electric picnic?
Fair play, I didn't realise he was anywhere near that popular
The Stunning doing Limerick Castle on 29th June
Frank and Walters supporting
What's the capacity of the Big Top, c. 5k? Didn't think there would be that much demand at 40 odd a ticket. They're playing a smaller venue in Cork in a few weeks with tickets cheaper and hasn't sold out yet. Maybe there will be more demand by next summer though
Anyone have info on ticket prices for Elvis Costello in viar at. Single night prices?
3,500
Noels gigs have improved a lot . the Kilmainhan gig was the best ive seen the high flying birds live, as Kilmainham looks full for next year . it could end up in somewhere not as good
Still seems fairly high. Think largest venue they've played here so far is Olympia and that's with larger population in Dublin. Be one thing if they were part of a festival line up. Could be proven very wrong though and could sell well, just have my doubts personally
I'd say it will do well. I think there's decent demographic in Galway who would feel they are missing out if they don't attend at least one of the Big Top gigs during the Arts Festival. They just pick the one that appeals most, even if they might not bother buying tickets to see the same act if they were playing Leisureland at another time of the year.
Also worth noting that locals know to buy tickets from the Arts Festival or Roisin Dubh, rather than Ticketmaster, so they'll probably pay €37 for a €35 ticket rather than than €43 or whatever Ticketmaster will charge.
Oh mighty thanks for posting that
Completely agree. I thought his st.annes show was poor but kilmainham was extremely enjoyable. Band were fantastic
Limited tickets I’m afraid- can’t get 2- just individual ones- pity
Yes, would agree. His St. Annes gig was terrible IMO but the Kilmainham show was so much better.
I'm guessing tickets for David Gray in Whelans will go in a flash ?
Presale tomorrow morning
€55 a ticket might put some off
Depending on if there's no irish date I'd consider going to his outdoor gig at alexandra palace next summer. Love a day out in London and ally pally brilliant venue. Outdoor set up looks nice
Supposed it seeing a well known artist in such a small setting
Slow Pulp in Whelans, Saturday 15th June: https://singularartists.ie/show/slow-pulp-2/
I may not have been too enamoured with them a few nights ago but they'd certainly appeal to some here.
I await the morons complaining next year when David Gray doesn't play anything off white ladder at an album show for a completely different album.
In fairness for most artists these shows are normally a case of playing the album in full but tacking on other popular tracks in the encore.
Been at all of them except Noel Malahide , wouldnt go near the place after Liams Gig the year before
the 2018 3 arena gig was terrible aswell ,
Liams Olympia 2017 , 2019 3 arena and Kilmainham were his best 3 of them
Yeah sure the album is 45 minutes so would expect encore of 25/30 minutes of greatest hits after
Some do, some don't, and he didn't play anything off white ladder on his last tour, and it was funny watching people complain even though it was called the skellig tour.
Seems about right for a venue of that size though
Noel used to not play here that often, think he only had 3 or 4 headlines during his first 7 or so years but since the Who Built The Moon he’s been here every year (except Covid)
Wouldn’t be surprised if does Galway airport or Belfast next summer and doesn’t go near Dublin
Meanwhile The Killers in their last "Imploding the Mirage" tour started off playing only six songs off the album before slowly dropping them until they only played two songs off it by the end of tour. 😂
I see Liam Gallagher is starting at €70 for Thomond Park. Does anyone know other prices(seating). Can't see it anywhere. What is seating like in general at Thomond. Haven't been to a gig there before. Thanks
Must go back give the album a listen
I'll probably recognise a few tunes
Same with Galway and Limerick, that’s circa 12 venues/festivals.
