Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
Speculation in the article below about ac/dc playing Germany in June. Would that line up for a gig in croke Park for the end of European tour in August?
Yeah as it’s rumoured that they will only be doing a show every weekend in a different city as not able for a intensive schedule of multiple shows a week
Anyone got LCD presale to work?
MCD sent a mail this morning for presale access but not working
No, and putting the usual code at the end of the url does nothing. Guessing it is 10am or a mistake in the email and there isn't actually one.
They’re supposed to be in Paris in August so yea
Second Girls Aloud night added. Now playing Friday 17th and Saturday 18th of May.
Ticketmaster aren't listing a presale at all, seems to have been a miscommunication somewhere...
LCD Presale live now!
What's the capacity at Malahide? LCD likely to sell out?
20k
Blur (more popular here) took a good while to sell out last year and there was re-sale tickets popping up the whole time too.
Anyone else think the golden circle thing is bollix? That wasn't in malahide last year was it?
Not a fan of it at all. That's it now in all the big outdoor venues.....marlay, malahide, kilmainham.
Personally just think it makes more of a nuisance. We went to a gig last year and 3 had golden circle and two who came nearer to the date could only get GA......should all be GA in my opinion.
Have no issue with doing like the olympia (1st however many up the front get a wrist band) but personally think its a complete money racket
Could possibly be for crowd control i don't know ( but again shouldn't increase the cost of ticket)
Went to a marlay gig last year and was just behind the golden circle and some poor young stewards head was wrecked constantly stopping people who were trying to just walk in ( a few told him where to after not having the much sought after golden ticket....poor fella only doing his job)
It was in Malahide last year.
It's great, I love it. I'd get it for every gig if I could. I love being able to get up front without having to arrive at the venue super early (as it's usually not feasible), usually for an extra tenner but sometimes for no extra cost.
It was in Malahide last year yeah.
Its clearly a money making racket but also handy for older concert goers who don't want the argy bargy of queuing early, standing for hours, trying to navigate toilets through huge crowds etc.
My folks, in their 60s at the time, were up front for the Stones in Slane. At the barrier. No way my 60 odd year old mum would've agreed to go at all without those types of tickets. Last year at Springsteen in Barcelona I had them and walked in 10 minutes before he came on knowing Id get a good spot. None of this queuing all day bollocks. Had a lovely full day out in the city instead.
So they defo serve a purpose.
With licence/insurance now promoters need to add a “pit” for big outdoor shows. So people paying €10 extra for it seems fair. Rather than people queing
Golden circle got at €87. Only €10 more and for these acts that’s the best value I’ve seen for anything next year.
Ye agreed there is benefits to it i suppose. Just can be annoying if going with a bigger group
That looks ideal, really like the idea of sh1t robot playing between sets!
Anyone stayed in Lynders campsite at Portrane beach for gigs in Malahide? It's not too far, but getting back there after might be tricky enough.
Kilmainham to he fair did have separate toilets and separate bar.....so i can give them thats worth the small bit extra.
Marlay and malahide though? Did they
No Marlay and Malahide didn't have seperate toilets or bars.
If anything it’s more awkward as toilets are at the very back
Massively. It's a painful trek back if you've to go when the band are on.
from Malahide you’d have to get the train to Donabate. Your going the opposite direction as town so maybe a little quieter but not many trains as it’s not the DART. From Donabate it’s a long walk to Portrane. Maybe 45 minutes. You might get a taxi in Donabate but it would be hit and miss. A taxi from Malahide to Donabate if you could even get one would be €40 at least , but getting one would be a challenge
Yep, the Kilmainham setup were perfect. Much smaller queue for bar and toilets and they were close by.
Definitely worth the extra tenner
golden circle already gone in presale ?
Yep to be fair kilmainham I'd probably pay it. But malahide/marlay nope
€10????
It's €50 difference for Pink which is absolutely absurd and I expect the price gap between general standing and Golden Circle to widen at non stadium events too.
Thats a pisstake
Acts have to make their money from somewhere. No one buys music anymore. A bit of vinyl aside. Spotify is basically streaming Napster.
Saw this earlier. Not gig related but 50 quid, FIFTY, for an album you can pick up second hand for 1 euro elsewhere.
I get artists have to make money......put 50 euro to be closer to stage is money gouging
Its 50 cheaper to be on the normal pitch, 50 quid cheaper gain to be at the very back seats etc. Make your peace with it, its the norm now.
Golden circle tickets for Pink seem to be 250 quid? Think thats the most expensive Ive seen in Ireland. Babs aside.
