I shoved this up on Twitter. Probably will get a formulaic response, especially from ALDI who seem to have farmed out their social media responses to a UK team. LIDL are more on the ball.
>Both @Aldi_Ireland and @lidl_ireland updated their SELs (shelf-edge labels) this month.
But did they test it on anyone over 60? There's something that hurts the eyes about these electronic paper displays. Hard to read and price per kg is unreadable without getting up close. Ugh!<
I’m sure you all have the M&S app but they are starting 12 days of Xmas in the 1st. Usually has some good offers.
i got the lidl version S&M app
Well, I got responses - of a sort!
Aldi Ireland

Apologies for any disappointment ****! Please be assured we'll pass along your feedback to the right teams for review. - Amy

Lidl Ireland @lidl_ireland
Hi *****, thanks for getting in touch. We're very disappointed to hear this
😥We'll have this raised with our Lidl Plus team, thanks for flagging this with us and apologies again.
It's even worse with dim lights. You can barely read the sign 😉
I wish they did more of these times! And not just in the evenings!
Anywhere have the chocolate with caramel in stock?
Not that I can see.
I thought they were both calling you a c**t when I read the replies first 😲🤣
😂😂 I had written the response and suddenly realised they had used my name (the real one - OR IS IT?) so I put in the asterisks. I don't know how to do that redacting thing people do on names and car numberplates (why?). Not that the info would be hard to find by anyone with a titter of wit.
I'm finding it's difficult and slow to peruse the "middle aisles" - for some reason I can't seem to adjust to the typeface or contrast or something of these labels, so I have to look closer at each bin to see what's there, and then back off to read the price, rather than just scan the labels. I was looking for reduced price bike gear. Down in the grocery sections, my eyes are scanning the packages, not the labels
This week’s coupon code is PARKRUN900 and will allow you a choice between our salad trio lettuce and orange juice
Lidl shrinkflation, old pack of firelighters vs new pack. Was €1.99 now €2.49
Same in dunnes and a 20% increase to go with it. About a 40% swing....
They've stopped selling their 79c toothpaste. Now the cheapest is €1.50.
i had grabbed few 30c reduced price ones from tesco earlier in the year..glad i did !
25% off Honey 😀😀 😀 😀😀 😀
Apologies for question, but do I need to register on a park run site or something? as I can't get the code to work. Cheers.
It works.
Yes, you have to do the parkun - its only 5k 😎
No you don’t have to register, using the code now should work maybe copy and paste the code just to make sure it’s the same
I see a €5 off €30 coupon today,expires in 4 days, only in 1 account.
Mixed peppers are already reduced in tbe super 6 but the Lidl plus coupon offering 47% off causes them to ring in at full price and then be reduced to 99c
That happened with the cherry tomatoes last week as well.
Looks like super 6 is not super 5 with a Lidl plus item added as filler, customer services pointed out its Lidl plus only
Here’s my convo, crafty feckers
I think you are getting your German supermarkets mixed up. Aldi call it super 6 while Lidl always called them super savers
she replied back that it is still six super savers but one is only available with lidl plus
they are right...they never had super six ! they have started to put weekly offers and lidl plus App items together. E.g. cherry tomatoes last week.
Unless you have a photo which says price is lesser with out a Lidl plus logo on it :) !
So 3 fresh mixed peppers are half price in the cheapest supermarket in the country and someone contacted customer service to complain?
Sweet suffering Jesus on the cross.
