Car charger tripping RCBO while charging

I have an Ohme car charger that trips the RCBO at least once a week usually half way through or towards the end of a full charge.

Is it likely to be an issue with the charging unit itself or the car ?

Im trying to decide if I need to contact the garage or Ohme. I’ve attached and image of the RCBO.

As a general rule I would recommend avoiding Garo like the plague. It is low quality kit in my opinion, which is known for undersized terminals. Hager on the other hand is hard to beat.

Just an update on this. As Meercat said it was a known issue with Garo causing the tripping.

I replaced the Garo with with a Hager and no issues since.

Looks to me like a Type A .There's AC and pulsating DC waveforms on the box shown in pic

Hi, there would be an earth running down the SWA and the Ohme's have PEN protection built-in, so no ground rod is installed for the charger alone, if that answers the question.

What vehicle is on the charger when this happens?

Also, I think that's a type B RCBO and not a type A as per the installer's guidelines (pages 5 & 7 of the electric vehicle charging regulations), and I think that's also stated on the national regs too:

I'm not sure that the RCD trip type is the cause here anyway, but it's one to check with the installer first.

Aside from that for the moment, the normal cause of an RCD fault (as opposed to an RCBO) is water ingress, so you should visually check the cables as well as check for dampness on or around the Ohme unit. It could well be that moisture has entered the unit and it's tripping when it's evaporating and condensing back onto the internal PCB.

The other cause of an RCBO fault is from a electrical overload, but I don't think we have indications of that here anyway.
