Another "GAMECHANGER" you mean.
FlightRadar is tracking a "EIN49EC", an AerLingus A320 from Dublin to KTT (Kittila, Finland) right now.
But I can not find such a route or flight anywhere - It's not on AerLingus website or tracker or anywhere else.
Any idea what this could be?
Charters to Lapland. KTT and RVN run every year before Christmas. Packages sold by tour companies but not sure which.
Destination "North Pole" (2 flights today I think)
Strange diversion - America Airlines Barcelona to NYC diverting to LHR before it started over the Atlantic.

Probably have more people on the ground at Heathrow to deal with the issue and more chance of a getting passengers on another flight.
Chartered, fairly regular trip this time of of the year, EI even setup a dedicated check in desk. Not uncommon to see 2 flights a day
20+ years ago I operated one of these. In those days it was a all day round trip.
I think it was 4-6 hours on the ground then fly back. We had an engineer to look after the aircraft.
Nowadays I think the pax book 2 nights in "Lapland", so its like an old fashioned sun charter.
I see Sunway do them. They are eyewateringly expensive. More money than sense in my view (bah humbug).
Something was making a very unusual noise above the cloud cover at 16:10 in Clondalkin
Nothing on FR24 and ADSBexchange doesn't seem to do playback, anyone know what it was?
French Military plane came from DUB
Cargolux flying high today!
Must have a light load - that's the service ceiling for a 747.
SNN is closer, no?
Unless the aircraft is in immediate danger, diversion fields are decided having to regard to factors other than solely closeness. This has been discussed here from time to time. Most en route diversions are for medical reasons and Dublin sees a couple most weeks.
..
Went over the south city centre at 2500 ft a few minutes ago - very loud!
A lot of holding on approach into Dublin. Any reason for it? Weather seems ok
Chatter from ATC that there were issues with icing
C-GFMX, a Dash 8 currently operating on behalf of the UK Home Office, is on a patrol over the Channel, possibly searching for migrant boats.
The Dash 8 doesn't appear to be the optimal aircraft for mounting a downward-facing radar/sensor. The bulge seems uncomfortably close to the ground. I hope none of their pilots have worked for Ryanair because a hard landing could be expensive. 😄
There are quite a few special-purpose Dash 8s that operate for the US Government and related agencies, so they must be suitable. That Canadian one has been based at Lydd since around May 2023.
Sunak is probably asking can it accept bomb racks...
Flights diverting from NOC ATM due presumably to fog
^^ There was very limited visibility out there yesterday due to fog indeed - 50 metres at most. And it's still very foggy now, only slightly better than yesterday.
A rare early left turn off of 28R.
Handy way of beating the traffic.
...
A long way from home two RAAF C130s on route to Scotland.
SAS39D just did a go around at EIDW
Strong winds today but not much cross wind on rwy28!
edit
Looks like they had 2 attempts at landing!
Loss of 20kts at 100ft at EIDW reported from UAL228
