Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
I’d say a second night is guaranteed, maybe even a third
More summer 2024 announcements for Dublin and Galway
Good to see Nile back, it's been a while😅 Madness just as bad at this stage! Last year's Trinity show had the same setlist and same videos and backing as the previous August show in the Point. Very enjoyable mind you.
PJ Harvey for Belfast
PJ Harvey in Belfast in August.
Is that it for St Annes Park gigs for 2024 or might there be one more slot free? Think this year there were 5 nights.
The the for Collins barracks
Planning application hasn’t been submitted yet so exact numbers not known. Friday and Sunday of June bank holiday are free so would expect at least one of those to be used
Hopefully, they'll start on schedule and we won't have to forfeit a song like last time.
Pink on the Friday now confirmed
Her only Irish date for 2024 apparently. Anyone able to find out ticket prices? Can't see them anywhere.
Yeah only Irish date in 2024 so no EP, ATN or dublin summer show
Nickleback have the prestige of being my first ever proper gig in 2002(3?), Ive been hooked on gigs and festivals ever since, so I guess I have them to thank for that one. It was in the only point, could barley breathe in that sweat box ha. They were quite massive at the time with that Spiderman song and all their other hits though.
There actually decent live
The 2016 3Arena show was one of the lowest attended gigs I ever went too in the venue
No irish date
Had a feeling, as you mentioned they don't seem to have the pulling power in Ireland so probably not financially viable.
Is it a surprise after an empty 3 arena show
The Staves doing an Irish tour next summer:
Tuesday May 28th – Mandela Hall, Belfast
Wednesday May 29th – Dolan’s Limerick
Friday May 31st – Button Factory, Dublin
Sunday June 2nd – Live at St. Luke’s Cork

On the speculation front, Big Thief are supporting PJ Harvey in London on 18th August. Wonder could they play say Collins Barracks here?
Bleachers are announcing more gigs tomorrow. They're playing the UK in March. Dunno could a European tour be on the cards stopping off here.
Still waiting on any news on Marquee or Iveagh Gardens gigs. Hopefully will be some news this side of the new year.
A bit random but MCD are involved in organising a series of gigs in Letterkenny this August in a 4.5k capacity Marquee.
Wolf Tones are the first act announced for Letterkenny Summer Sessions August 17th.
Possibly some overlap with Irish acts booked Galway airport? Has Nile Rogers ever played Donegal 😂
dublin Council reviewing iveagh usage so doubt any announcements till next year
Think the Marquee will struggle this year like the last few.
5000 capacity isnt just going to draw the big acts anymore with the huge increase in ticket prices we are seeing and Musgrave Parks bigger capacity is more lucrative for acts.
A pity as Aiken was good to Cork for a long time but MCD have swooped in like a cuckoo.
LCD Soundsystem announcing dates soon
Was wondering if that could delay an announcement alright.
What do you mean 'reviewing usage'? As in it's suitability as a venue?
Issue with marquee is that booking 20 plus acts that will sell 4000-5000 in cork in a 6 week stretch is just hard work.
if an act can sell 5000 in cork they can sell out 3 arena, sometimes the very reduced pay day doesn’t make sense especially in peak festival season
Musgraves itself is struggling as well, only 3 out of 7 shows are sold out.

local nimby group want iveagh closed as concert venue. Complaining that people from other parts of Dublin are using their local park for too much of the summer and that it should be only for their private use
Oh sweet mother of divine Jesus. That's outrageous. The most beautiful outdoor venue in the city. What the **** is wrong with people? 5 gigs a year is it? As genteel an audience as you'll find anywhere, any of the dozen or so times I've been there, early finish, everyone gone in a flash. I'll hunt these so-called residents down if this goes through. I'll play Gavin James on a loop at top volume all night, constantly moving, keeping them on their toes, ninja like. See how they like that ****. Capital of culture my hole.
Complaining that the 7 or so concerts and comedy festival means that 1/2 of the park is off bounds for July.
taste of Dublin is actually more egregious as they take over whole park for 3 weeks for 3 days of the food festival
