Sorry double post
Meh. No Irish date
Is hellfest definite? The Saudi lineup looks grim, Chris Brown does fit in well there though
Saudi announced, tomorrow will be Hellfest and that will be that.
Maybe just appear adamant so people don't wait on tickets the tagged on special events means they can hold anything in pipeline.
I think likely festivals in countries they completed the 2 night thing alright.
Sweden,France or the Benelux. Ya if not Wertcher, Wertcher boutique or Graspop.
Yeah but were adamant there'd be no more headline shows added. Technically they'll say these are festival shows so they aren't adding headline shows, but I don't get the feeling I Days in Milan is ever going to be classed as a special event to warrant identifying as such nearly 2 years out.
I imagine remaining shows to come are in countries that didn't get the 2 nighter shows, maybe Rock Werchter
...theyll be back, it ll be a while though....
They are part of festivals though.
Tons of Rock or that Italian day event thingy can hardly be promoting their 2024 events immediately when Metallica released dates their 2023 editions were months out even.
People thought the "special event" just covered Powertrip but there were always obvious gaps in '24 schedule in fairness.
Quite possible, I just have pictures in my head of a lot of empty seats primarily from Euro shows. Could be wrong in the reality of it all, but just venue sizes for 2 nights seemed slightly big. The proclamation of the m72 tour being the only dates, but then suddenly adding more standalone dates means plans changed for a reason.
In the US sure.
They certainly haven't made losses in Europe but the 2 night thing seemingly hasn't brought about similar success.
Now they probably have those festival dates booked well in advance their initial press release stated they'd play "special events" but it obviously does make the run more profitable.
Why do you think that?
I think it is very unlikely we see Metallica in Ireland again
I'd say the 2 night thing has been a big success though? They've definitely set records at some stadiums in the States i believe.
They were never not adding standalone shows, dates with big gaps and think the 2 nighter touring model was ambitious. If they genuinely didn't plan on adding standalone dates, then they're definitely just covering some losses.
Ah, 2 added and 2 more to come.
Yeah Jason was unreal. Even just for the other vocal option he gave the band.
Check their website
RT in the band longer than Jason but he just feels like a stand in for hire still. Miss Jason, his energy in his live performances was something else.
They announced this year and next years schedule last year (I think it was last year) and said there would be no more dates added.
Just seen a couple of European dates on their website. Wonder are we going to get a visit from them? It's been over 4 years.
they do look nice alright, but i wouldnt be bothered
I see that they are releasing the 'WALMART' exclsuive coloured vinyls over here, not as Walmart though, just as limited Metallica/Universal releases
Crazy prices too, you can buy Ride or Puppets on walmart for $22, here they're 42 Euro
On the Universal music store all other single vinyl coloured editions are 29Euro, Metallica are 42
I have all the walmarts bar Anger and Reload, not a hope i'll be collecting these because there's a different sticker on them, although sure there will be many who will
Tuned into Matt Cooper during the week only to hear Blackened blaring out over the airwaves.
Dave Moore was on for some segment on his favourite albums..... not sure Matty was too impressed though.
Lars in conversation with Mary Anne Hobbs today on BBC 6 Radio 6. Listen here

Really was. Fair play to him.
This could have easily been awful but it's awesome.

ah i cant imagine leaving a band such as as being anything but difficult, some ballsy move though
I think it was pretty easy for him, to be honest, having listened to him talk about it over the years... he was steadfast in his decision; if I can't have my own project then I'm out. didn't James have some side project too? Like, talk about double-standards!
I watched VH1 Behind the Music at the weekend; interesting to hear them openly talk about hazing Jason. And he's SO humble about it all. Total legend
he definitely made the right decision for himself, wasnt an easy one to make though....
