Yeah Jason was unreal. Even just for the other vocal option he gave the band.
Ah, 2 added and 2 more to come.
They were never not adding standalone shows, dates with big gaps and think the 2 nighter touring model was ambitious. If they genuinely didn't plan on adding standalone dates, then they're definitely just covering some losses.
I'd say the 2 night thing has been a big success though? They've definitely set records at some stadiums in the States i believe.
I think it is very unlikely we see Metallica in Ireland again
Why do you think that?
In the US sure.
They certainly haven't made losses in Europe but the 2 night thing seemingly hasn't brought about similar success.
Now they probably have those festival dates booked well in advance their initial press release stated they'd play "special events" but it obviously does make the run more profitable.
Quite possible, I just have pictures in my head of a lot of empty seats primarily from Euro shows. Could be wrong in the reality of it all, but just venue sizes for 2 nights seemed slightly big. The proclamation of the m72 tour being the only dates, but then suddenly adding more standalone dates means plans changed for a reason.
They are part of festivals though.
Tons of Rock or that Italian day event thingy can hardly be promoting their 2024 events immediately when Metallica released dates their 2023 editions were months out even.
People thought the "special event" just covered Powertrip but there were always obvious gaps in '24 schedule in fairness.
...theyll be back, it ll be a while though....
Yeah but were adamant there'd be no more headline shows added. Technically they'll say these are festival shows so they aren't adding headline shows, but I don't get the feeling I Days in Milan is ever going to be classed as a special event to warrant identifying as such nearly 2 years out.
I imagine remaining shows to come are in countries that didn't get the 2 nighter shows, maybe Rock Werchter
Maybe just appear adamant so people don't wait on tickets the tagged on special events means they can hold anything in pipeline.
I think likely festivals in countries they completed the 2 night thing alright.
Sweden,France or the Benelux. Ya if not Wertcher, Wertcher boutique or Graspop.
Saudi announced, tomorrow will be Hellfest and that will be that.
Is hellfest definite? The Saudi lineup looks grim, Chris Brown does fit in well there though
Meh. No Irish date
Sorry double post
Should be, full line up coming at 9 tomorrow morning.
Confirmed alright, along with Racino Rocks in Austria. Saudi one must have been a late addition
Ya initial post on 2 shows actually did seem for Europe come to think of it.
Saw elsewhere Austria is priced €150 GA and €223 gold circle, unless they appear at a festival I'm headed to I'm pretty content with having seen them the couple of times I did.
ffs some of those ticket prices are ridiculous, i understand costs have sky rocketed, but ffs.....
Anyone see the geddy lee show on paramount? Episode 2 he visits Rob and his house is unreal !
Other highlight is les claypools Luthier , she's a hoot
James will only do 50 dates a year he's said it over and over.
They're all over or pushing 60 now, so they're not going to go crazy touring anymore
Not only that, he will also not play ANY consecutive nights, even if in same city, and will only tour in 2 week bursts
Has to look after his voice, Jon Bon Jovi should have taken a leaf out of Hets book
In case anyone missed it... Lars's dad, Torben Ulrich, passed away just before Christmas at the grand age of 95.
I'd write him a bit of a eulogy, but I like to think he'd say of it, '.... delete that...'.
jesus i just loved that guy, sad news alright
Ive two 2 day snakepit tickets for Madrid in July if anyone wants them for face value, I won't make it now and no official resale option on the Spanish ticketmaster site
