Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
would have though / Weller or the Manics /suede would sell more
Crackin it’s same weekend as ep :(
I'm sure the lads at EP will get a belt of Thunderstruck to keep them happy
Penny's AC/DC t-shirts
i'm pretty sure his recent surge in popularity is down to tik tok, not knocking that btw
Got my P!nk tickets there in the presale. Must have been one of the smallest pre-sale queues I've seen to date. I got two sets of tickets and even when I was kicked out for too many searches I rejoined at only 1400 in the queue. Roll on next June!
Eh what?
I dont think many people knew about it.
She will add a second night, the prices are very steep for her.
I would agree that they're steep but I wouldn't say steep for her. Last time she was here, seated tickets were around €150 for the seats I got in the RDS. This time around they were €135 for fairly similar seats in the Aviva.
Perhaps.
I got a couple of good seats in Blk 126 for 136 euro each which isnt too bad.
Why is there no seatmap up for Dublin, you can pick your seats off every other Eu presale, the graphic they have up for the seating is crap too, can barely read the sections.
Seat map is promoter discretion.
combination of promoters seeing no value in it and hassle.
best available option in lieu though obviously inferior.
sometimes it goes up for 3 arena shows after initial 24/48 hours sale period.
How in the hell is it hassle?
You seriously come out with some rubbish while always defending Ticketmaster or the promoter!!!
Look we know the real reason why there is no seatmap, its to sell the worst tickets first and to mislead the consumer.
We sure do and it's an absolute joke and don't get me started on them disabling the transfer option and sometimes not turning on Ticketmaster Resale for certain events to pressure/force people into buying Platinum/V.I.P. Tickets but am sure the one who thinks he knows it all will come on and defend poor old Ticketmaster!
hassle as it’s a more laborious back end request which comes at a cost to the promoter. You have to give ticketmaster more advance notice etc.
Ticketmaster charges promoters for requesting Interactive seat maps. it’s another headache/cost for promoter.
Promoter just wants tickets sold as quickly as possible.
and I’m not defending ticketmaster/promoters.
it is an extra cost/hassle that promoters don’t see value in.
Tom Odell cancelling Limerick show as part of upgrading to 3 arena for Dublin from trinity
I'm sorry but I don't believe that for a minute. Can you point to exactly where there is an additional charge for interactive seat maps? And come on, "you have to give Ticketmaster more notice"? It's a program that takes less than 30 seconds to turn on for a venue that's already on their system.
I've seen artists release shows across the UK and Ireland and all UK shows had a seatmap whereas Ireland didn't. The majority of shows don't have seatmaps.
A lot more hassle for people buying though. It's done for matches, it should be done for gigs. As it is there's a lot of hoops to buying tickets these days between signing up for presale access, queues etc and it just adds to it. They're making tidy profits so think they can endure a tiny bit of hassle to make things easier for punters
You know full well Livenation/TM owns the arena in Dublin (among other venues). >90% of shows hosted there are promoted by the same shower.
You give the impression you don't defend this lot but you sure put a lot of effort into misdirection.
If you pay yourself to do a job you lose nothing.
Give yer balls a tug.
Seatmaps aren't used in the first 2/3 hours of a sale usually, think about any popular event that went on sale recently, take Bruce. If they offered the seatmap at 10.01 - say 5,000 people would log on, see the empty seatmap, all select the best seat, and 4,999 would get back a "those seats are no longer available" message. Then those 4,999 do the same thing and 4,998 people get the "those seats are no longer available" message.
It's totally unworkable, much easier to sell sections, first 4 get seats 1-4, next 4 get seats 5-9 etc.
To be fair, I don't think anyone is talking about or concerned about the first hour of a sale because everyone knows that would be carnage. For all gigs, the first hour of a sale is by Stand Section.
The issue is that Ticketmaster generally doesn't adjust to sections after that and even when it does it almost never then goes to seat selection.
P!nk presale opened 7 hours ago and you can only select by Stand Section.
When I buy tickets for Leinster games in the same venue, I can pick my exact seat. Now I know that demand is way lower than P!nk for a Leinster game but there's no reason seven hours later that seat selection isnt available - other than to shift whatever crap they can.
Ice Cube is playing the 3Arena in two weeks. Loads of seats available. No seat selection.
Still plenty of tickets left for Bruce. No seat selection.
Small bargain alert for gig goers.
Ticketmaster offering 10% off gift cards with the code BF2023.
Just loaded up a 500 gift card as it'll inevitably be used.
Just got a €500 voucher there myself 😊
Thanks Exclamation Marc for the alert as I'm away at the moment and haven't been keeping an eye on Ticketmaster!!!
Can you use that €500 card multiple times throughout the year? It'll just subtract a ticket price from the balance?
Yes, you can use it multiple times, that's what I did this year with the voucher I bought last Black Friday
Nice, great idea
Only slight pain is you can't add a gift card as a default payment method like a debit or credit card
Ben Ottewell and Ian Ball from Gomez playing Whelans on 20/03/2024.
Saw them in Whelans this year. Really enjoyed the night.
