Putin continues to weaponise refugees
Estonia now
Yes but you know, for definite confirmation you have to wait for Russians to deny it..
As close to a confession as we will get I think
"Without directly addressing the incident, Russian-installed officials in occupied Donbas confirmed the death of a civilian woman born in 1972 in Kumachove."
I guess they thought that 60 klms from the front lines was a safe enough distance. I foresee a big drop off in attendances at future artistic performances for Russian Troops...
Happy to see in the last day or two Ukraine held and even took back minor gains on the Avdiivka front. Wouldn't it be great if no matter how much meat Russia throw at this they don't take it. That would send a message.
A thought just occurred to me. There's now about half a million less ruZZian speakers in the world, probably millions more if you count those Ukrainians who refuse to speak the language of the occupier. It was never one of those pleasant languages to listen to.
What a strange thought and even stranger takeaway. But congrats on the xenophobia.
I don't think the Nazis ever even published a list of people they wanted dead
Careful now you might be labelled a xenophobe
/s
Always craics me up how Russians get all uppity and snarky and start squealing about Russophobia and human rights when they get treated no worse than their own barbaric lot treats them
3.8km!! If confirmed that's a hell of a shot. Previous record was a bit over 3.5km by a Canadian sniper in Afghanistan or Iraq I believe.
Actually, the Nazis did have something for the UK: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Black_Book_(list)
For sure the Nazi bastards had lists, and many lists at that, but they didn't make them public to forewarn the "names". Putin wants them to know that they are on his hit list, to spread terror. The message is " Be careful or else!!!"....your name could appear on this list.
To be fair Russians basically invented the concept of “enemy of the people” death lists decades ahead of that sorry lot (who they allied to at start of WW2, never forget)
Yes but I don't think they made it public?
When did a little Xenophobia do anyone any harm?
..
Depends, if you're xenophobic against my side then I'm straight up on my high horse declaring my outrage and shock. But if you're xenophobic against the other lads, we'll all have a virtual circle jerk online for the LOLZ.
No, they did not.
and they wonder why people are fleeing in droves
if one were to suggest say....that putin likes a tommy tank under the big table...would one be put on the "list" and be in grave danger from open windows...?
“Xenophobia: A strong antipathy or aversion to strangers or foreigners.”
Being an anti fascist (and that’s precisely what modern Russia has become under Putin) does not make one a Xenophobe
Especially when said fascists used language in the exact same manner the Nazis did as one of the pretexts for this war
I'm well aware of what xenophobia is. I'm also well able to read posts on this thread. If you don't make the connection then that's fine. Life is way too short and time is way too valuable to be arguing with strangers on the internet. There's plenty of anti-russian xenophobic posts on this thread and pointing that out does not mean that I don't want to see Putin's military machine crippled and pushed back across the border in the shortest time possible.
Perhaps take your complaints to the Putin regime who has made the Russian language, history and culture as cornerstones of his bizarre and evil mix of fascism, nationalism, cynicism and plain criminality that is Putinism
We even have an ambassador who I am sure would love to hear from Irish people that he repeatedly lied to, who knows you might get a spot on Russia Today and a tea mug
All you need to do is look at any of the street interviews with the regular Russian on the 420 channel. By and large you'll get 3 responses regarding the war and Putin/ Russian government issues:
The Russian public have an enormous responsibility for the current crisis. Putin is a sociopathic murdering scumbag. But he's not The Tzar by happenstance. And if he's dethroned , he'll likely just be replaced by another ,anti free speech, pro empire building hardman with notions of gracing the pages of history with his own taint.
The system is set up for it and the change must come from within. We tried to bring Russia into the fold by trading and mixing with them and it didn't work. Until that problem is addressed Russia will continue to create problems for it's peaceful democratic neighbors and must be isolated until such time.
The Ukrainians claimed to have beaten the Canadian record last year too
Indeed we covered this ground before on this thread and I too am of the opinion that every single Russian citizen whether living there or abroad has a moral duty to protest at this war as they see fit. If they don't, then they either agree or they are each individually complicit by way of indifference.
Others through disagree and say they have no minds, no choice in the matter, that they are just vassals and must be given a free pass. Which is a very convenient argument.
Finally, also down to one open checkpoint
…and que all kinds of shenanigans at that crossing. I hope they planned for it.
