Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
Anyone having issues on nch website booking nils fragment- expiry date for cc is filling the zero as letter o even tried pasting it in - can’t pay
Looks like a decent few days out. I reckon I'll go to that.
This looks tidy enough! Reckon we will go too. Pod do love recycling their acts, reckon this leaves the door open for a proper Bicep live show at ATN??
Nah no bicep live shows next year, just this av/dj set show.
won’t be till next album that they do proper live thing again here
FF it is so, now to figure out somewhere to park the van for a couple of days!
It's mostly a Dublin crowd out for the day so definitely not as laid back crowd as other camping festivals.
Longitude is a kids festival. FF is relatively young, a lot of early 20's. I went a few years back when I was was about 33 but didn't feel out of place. Still a good few 30's floating around.
Jeez, that's got to be a BIG stretch on resources for stewards and catering.
"I'm putting them on now" Same, and grabbed a pre-sale ticket to this as a result.
We are well into Nile Rogers territory with them now but they sell out every date. The Olympia shows will at least have a certain novelty.
Yeah, definitely. I'm like most Pixies fans, I suppose, all about the Surfer Rosa and Doolittle. It'll make a nice change hearing Bossanova and particularly Trompe le Monde. I'd forgotten how good some of that is. I frightened the kids a bit with my enthiastic singalong of Dig for Fire. Brilliant stuff.
Out of interest: What exactly is the Chroma AV set? Is it a big step down in terms of the live experience?
Well it’s a dj set of them playing other people’s tunes and a handful of their own. Something lighting and visuals but not them playing their own stuff
Tom Odell's Trinity gig moved to 3Arena before tickets went on sale. How does that work, based on the number of people who registered for presale if there was one? Guess it frees up a Trinity slot so https://twitter.com/mcd_productions/status/1727312453837480422?t=uBr0jbGh1ugeaNEgkDmTig&s=19
Odd one, didn't think there would be such demand for Tom
Trinity had an age restriction so they moved it to 3arena
Yeah but also saying cos of unprecedented demand. Not sure why it wasn't in the 3Arena in 1st place, maybe gauging demand first
Considering the electronic nature of that lineup, Is Nelly Furtado not a bit of a strange headliner?
New album may be more electronic
Sure lorde headlined in 2022 so Nelly furtado is fitting the pop star headliner category
"Unprecedented demand" just sounds better even though its just due to the the age issue as they also stated. Tom had up on his insta last night they were looking to resolve it.
Looking forward to it regardless enjoyed him at EP
Nelly Furtado, she hasnt had a hit in about 20 years ?
Either did Aphex when he headlined
When he released Syro in 2014 he was number one in the dance charts for a year he doesn't need top 40 chart hits he already has his audience.
I know what you mean but Lorde was very current and had a rep for big live productions.
I'm sure POD will add more artists later but it just looks well out of place on that current lineup.
Promiscuous and maneater are insanely popular still with younger audience. Both days will do the business. Bicep day will be quicker
more fuel for the Slane/Croker fire
It’s croke park in august same weekend as EP 2024. Sure even the Australian embassy confirmed it
Apparently Girls Aloud will be announcing a comeback tour tomorrow of the UK and Ireland (it’s already been reported in the Sun).
https://3arena.ie/events/girls-aloud seems to bring up a page saying it’s the 18th of May next year and tickets go on sale 1st of December
Yeah I’d say 2 nights easily. Didn’t people on here say only 3 gigs allowed in Aviva a year but this is the 4th with a possible 5th too.
Girls Aloud confirmed

They have to apply for permission/licence for anything over 3 concerts a year.
always risk that these pink shows could be refused.
no concerts in 2023 in Aviva make it an easier sell
