I've seen a few of these in London when I last over. It's called "Social Darts". It's basically renting out a board for insane prices to play different darting games. I can't see it lasting.
Here's the website of that place above:
Flight Club Darts
(I know it's extremely early but ya know these things esp in a city like London)
What would be the latest date they would start the PDC World Championships at ??
Weighing up options to attend one of the days for the 2024/25 Championships but hard to guess when it could start given the calendar for 2024
Was at the one in Manchester and a similar thing in Southampton. Good craic if you have a group and they aren't mad into conventional darts
It started on the 15th of Dec the last 4 years. The earliest it's ever started was the 13th and that was only once
The venue for the World Grand Prix is TBC for 2024. Maybe a return to Dublin
All players championships now to be played on midweek. An absolute disaster for the bottom end of the tour where most still work full time to afford to chase the dream
It's one or the other for some players
This was always going to be the case. The previous tournament got an exception due to Covid.
The previous tournament was also a case of allowing newly-earned Tour Card holders to compete since they also didn't compete in the previous years' PDC world champs.
This time around though it's very much a line in the sand for Beau and Littler. As for others who could be affected: Chris Landman has an outside chance of qualifying via ProTour (currently has £16k, projected cut-off is currently at £17.75k), Haupai Puha/Ben Robb/Johnny Tata could win the DPNZ qualifier slot, several who could go on massive streaks in the Challenge Tour, and who knows if someone could put on a late surge in the Women's Series for that second qualification slot.
If Sherrock pops down to 4th in the womens tour, then there'll be 4 female players involved
None of the Men's players have ever competed in both Championships in the same 'year' so nothing major about that.
It's a bit harsh on the Women though considering that there isn't a Ladies PDC Championship.
Will this rule out the likes of Lenord Gates and David Cameron from playing in the seniors world championship and the pdc I wonder
Luke Littler has already released a statement saying he will be playing in the PDC worlds.
Interesting question, I don't think the PDC have said anything on this yet.
Matthew Edgar talked about how much Leonard Gates and Luke Littler earned outside of the pro tour in 2023.
Gates has made something like 50k and Littler 90k this year alone.
I wonder has the success of Modus and the Seniors Tour done much to persuade the lower end of the 128 tour card holders to seek other avenues in Darts and if the midweek pro tour switch a way to force players not to participate in events like this.
Ireland ladies won the world cup yesterday what an achievement. The men came 3rd ahead of Scotland, Wales ect, unbelievable.
Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the PDC come up with some way of getting Greaves into the Worlds. They essentially did so last year when creating the spot for the World Matchplay Champion in order to get Fallon in.
The fawning they have after these women players is infuriating.
They don't fawn over Greaves in the same way they do for Fallon.
Sure, but Fallon is waning. Beau is a superstar in the women's game.
If Sarah Milkowiski ever makes its big Sky will be fawing over her. "Very good looking blonde darts player" perfect for Sky
Beau isn't "pretty" enough for Sky to be promoting her over the blonde skinny Fallon dressed in pink. They aren't promoting them based on their ability unfortunately.
There's that too.
RIP Toon Greebe, who played at the Ally Pally a few times. Very young aged just 35 and had it tough with a double leg amputation over the years as well.

Hardly needs the money so I guess it's just a fancy practice schedule for Michael
A very... unusual nine in the Super League today:
That's some leg alright. Both players sitting a nine dart finish, Springer drops the dart and then pings the D12 for a nine dart finish to win the match.
Looks like an excellent standard in the Super League, German darts really is improving all the time.
Some composure after dropping the dart then picking it up to hit the double. Unreal

How much prize money gets carried over for the 2024 season ?
Does the World Champion automatically go into Number 1 spot even if there only an international qulaifer and they end up going all the way ?? (Slimist of slim chances of that happening)
Order of Merit rules are here --> https://www.pdc.tv/pdc-order-merit-rules
World Champion isn't #1 unless they've won more money in the preceding 2 years to justify the position.
2024 money is made up of 2 years earnings on the tour. For example, this years World Championship. when concluded will replace prize monies won in the 2022 version for the order of merit
Top 64 in the world get a one-year Tour Card extension, and retain all of their valid Order of Merit money.
Those who won a two-year Tour Card via Q-School or Challenge/Development Tour last year, retain all of their valid Order of Merit money.
Everyone else is reset to zero; even if you win back a Tour Card at the next Q-School.
Look up the Tour Card Race. Everyone in light or dark green are projected to keep their Order of Merit money going into next year.
