Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
In particular MCD, but picture this will probably sell it out in minutes tbf
The lineup of concerts for next summer is pretty weak in general.
Not a hope in hell will this sellout in minutes and you can quote me on it!!
Wouldn’t say so, for rock anyway. Certainly far better than 2023. Lots of significant acts playing here, some who haven’t been for over 10 years. Though Picture This and the 2 Johnnies being on Saturdays isn’t saying a lot for the smaller outdoor venues.
They sold out 2 nights in 3 arena no problem in October.
Absolute rubbish! There was loads of tickets left for both nights.Prices were way too high as they peaked 2 years ago!
Stones announcing tour dates soon
Pixies RDS. I guess there will still be demand for their yearly Dublin gig, since the March Olympia dates went fast.
I keep saying I'm done, but in fairness it's always a decent show.
Yeah, I'm sort of the same. I yield to no-one in my admiration for their back catalogue but they've out Chic-ed Chic at this stage in their love of an Irish date. They're here every couple of weeks. But yeah, I'm booked in for March and I'll be losing my mind with everyone else when Joey hits the opening chords to U-Mass. Or whatever. Feck it, I'm putting them on now.
Tom Odell for Trinity and Limerick Castle in July
Trinity college gigs a bit bland this year imo
Just doesn't have that quirky like a vampire weekend or Janelle Monae to make it interesting.
So far
Villagers,
Manics/suede
Paul Weller
Tom odell
And 29th August 2024
RDS Simmonscourt, Dublin.
Feckin Simmonscourt though! When was the last time you saw a gig in Simmonscourt?
They're going for the authentic 90s "tapes been taped over 3 times, listening on a player where you can't raise the volume or the batteries will die" experience.
August 26th, 1995.
Neil Young and Pearl Jam.
The exact same people that went to see them at the Arts Fest last year. So far all seven of our crew from then have already confirmed.
.
Fair chance of a second night from any of Fatboy Slim, the Wolfe Tones or Pixies. I’d also expect a night or two from the Sawdoctors so nothing groundbreaking from this set of gigs.
Can we cordon it off and keep them there? I’d detain the attendees also.
We’ve not had announcements for EP or ATN yet and there are plenty of decent acts already declared. Today we had Nils Frahm, Johnny Marr and Pixies. Weller is about plus the Manics, Suede, Crowded House and the Waterboys with The The very likely.
So far so unadventurous but we can surely expect the best of young Irish acts (Gilla Band, Fontaines, NewDad, etc) to be playing and a fair amount of young UK/US artists. Galway Arts Fest, Limerick King John’s & Big Top, Cork Marquee, Trinity, Iveagh and others always offer a surprise or two. Hold out some hope!
NewDad probably on the festival route but 2 nights at the Button Factory is doing well as it is.
Fontaines probably playing 3 Arena at the end of the year when the new album comes out (just a guess) but they are playing festivals in June so you’d imagine Glastonbury is on the cards.
What are the odds/chances of Steve Hackett adding an Irish date next summer ? Prefer an Irish show but might have to take the boat to Cardiff or Liverpool.
Forbidden fruit to announce as well, bicep headlining will please people
The The?!
I'd love that, would that be an Olympia / Vicar St size gig or bigger?
I'd love that too. Have we missed the 30th anniversary of Dusk? It was the Iveagh Gardens last time? I'm sure they'd be Vicar Street if they were back.
NewDad debut in Jan, expect a lot of hype (particularly from BBC6), bigger venues and decent festival slots in 8/9 months.
Very hard to tell. None of the European dates thus far (Scotland, Netherlands, England) have a capacity over 3,500 bar Ally Pally in London. The Paradiso in Amsterdam is only 1,500. He’s the type of artist that makes random choices so hard to second-guess.
Pink for Aviva 20th of June w/ Rag n Bone Man,Gayle & Kidcutup.
Nice.....
Very slim chance I'd say. He would have announced it by now - last time he played was Vicar St in 2017 (I think) ... great show.
What's the deal with the Previous Purchaser Presale on ticketmaster for the Pink tickets?
Likely if you had bought for RDS or Hyde Park on account you'd be mailed a code.
