4 buses outside st brigid's right now :O 😲
Lot of the Argos’s stores are prime retail spots and will be snapped up. Boots likely anxious to get a spot in Carlow as they don’t have an outlet there yet
Carlow shopping centre really could do with Boots going in there to help get a proper anchor tenant alongside it.
Once a shopping centre spirals it takes a lot to bring it back- Sam Mccauleys recently bailed so I don’t think Boots would have been much more successful- infinitely better footfall and tenants where they’re going.
Carlow Shopping Centre must be appallingly run- it’s still a very attractive place in a great location but has completely failed or allowed to
Shocker
I can't think of any business that could save that shopping centre. People have mentioned TK Maxx and H&M but they don't have the pull that Penneys do.
Is it true the owner is Kathryn Thomas' dad?
Definitely that family are/were involved in developing it.
I don’t get the logic of leaving it idle - they all seem to all prefer do that than dropping rents to realistic levels and filling units. I suppose all the major supermarkets are well covered in Carlow - Dunnes stores could have worked quite well there
As per Carlow Nationalist property section today Brasserie 15 on Tullow St. is for rent through REA Sothern Auctioneers; Commercial Rates're circa €6,300 & Monthly Rent is €3,000 + VAT.

Any idea where that might be going?
Owners of 53 & 54 Tullow St.'ve secured conditional planning permission for change of use from basement bar to casino; 13 conditions; most of 'em are standard enough ones but operating hours're limited, relatively speaking, from 10am-2am in much same way as local amusement arcades on Tullow St. & Burrin St./Charlotte St. are already operating at.

Owners weren't in a hurry to come back to council with their FI; took 'em 10 months; council did, of course, only seek the FI at the 11th hour; maybe this is standard for Carlow Co. Co. or maybe it's just a thing generally?
No idea and there was no hint at where it would be on the job advertisement.

New barbers to open in Carlow; hoping for Sunday week.
Was in the Carlow Tesco today and Christ it would do your head in with the crowds and also slow tills. Hard to get a proper look at Christmas things with packs of women!! Maybe it was the time of day (pre 4.00 pm). Usually go to the portlaoise one and maybe that’s the difference it’s so much more spacious to get around. I left fairly quickly
Another one?? never seen a town with so many
The money's not gonna wash itself.
Changes afoot for the Carlow-Heuston service beginning on Sunday the 10th of December following on from the public consultation phase.
Primarily they are Monday-Friday a 12:20 Heuston-Carlow service AND the return at 15:15.
Also, and this is quite novel, but clearly the demand must be there, have been expressed during the PC phase, the current 20:15 Monday-Friday ex Heuston & 21:37 ex Carlow is not being extended to also run on a Saturday night.
Someone is building a 31 bed hostel down Cox's lane.
WK Projects Limited wishes to construct a new three storey hostel accommodation, with 31 bedrooms at Cox’s Lane, Carlow Town.
Did a Google on company name; South African, Maltese, UK links but may be totally different company.
Site location is on right hand side going down; beyond GB Shaw Building/County Council offices, private dwelling & above Top Pro Gym; so in between them.
Site's currently derelict/overgrown; site notice currently on the wall beside gate.
Edited to correct myself on location.
