Quite similar to this house I think, just love the feel of the place from the pictures.
Did someone say 1970’s?
Nice nicotine patina on the kitchen/dining walls and ceilings.
Tender loving care not for this one. Ugh!
I don't see that, easily sorted anyway.
The large Lidl and its car park next door is a bigger issue.
You wouldn’t be saying that when you run out of milk and bread of an evening 😁 over the wall… sorted 👌🏻
🤣🤣
And the 'Mystery Area' at the back of the garden, seemingly only accessed by the house's driveway, yet not included in the sale ...
A quick search will show you that they applied for planning to put in a new entrance (presume for a new build at the site to the rear) earlier this year and it was refused.
It would be great for the weekly special buys also.
Just look out the window and you'll know if you need to queue up.
The front of this house is a bit pointy for me.
The house has wings, looks as though it is about to take off!
That's a cat, no?.
My first thought
Some sort of super cat lair. A cross between Thunderbirds and ThunderCats 😂
More here:
If someone told you about that house, you would find it hard to believe them! Amazing time capsule!
Looks like no central heating, electric rads on the walls.
suspect a right of way issue with the yard at the back/ It ssems to be used. Can't understand why it isn't included in the sale. Family getting greedy and looking to sell another site, perhaps?
The guts of a great house, but would need a LOT of work.
Eeeek
Was posted not so long ago. Divided opinion, there's a lot I love about it.
I'm with you. I'd change the exterior colour and worry a bit about the flat roof and the windows, but the proportions, interior layout, site, grounds are all very attractive. Then again it's in Leitrim.
Lick of non-pink external paint and some weedkiller and it would be lovely - if it was transported away from Leitrim!
Anyone else seeing a lake in this picture?
I'm only after realising it's a wall.
I could happily suffer in it. 😊
The lake is the other direction but yeah on a quick skim of pictures I saw a lake too 😄
Could only think of one other place I'd seen that colour scheme and I'm not sure which is worse.
Ah that Sligo cottage is a whole other level of crass tastelessness. Anyway the pink prize goes to Jeremy Irons for what he did to Kilcoe Castle in Rooaringwater Bay.

But there again, Jeremy Irons was returning the castle to how it looked originally.
The retro TV in the Carlow house is weird, in that there's a flatscreen TV in one of the bedrooms. It suggests that that room was just used at Christmas and when the parish priest called.
This is very unusual, at least on the outside. Inside is a bit dated but not in a time capsule way like some of the 1970s postings earlier :) The bedroom in pic 6 has to be baltic with the big windows and no curtains!
A once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire a much coveted, 19th century, Swiss Cottage . Originally constructed as part of the Lough Rinn Castle Estate, seat of the Earls of Leitrim (Clements family).
Not what I was expecting here, a bungalow for €65k I expected empty and abandoned - which is what it is. I did not expect the furniture, the two chairs pulled up by the Aga or the baby's cot 😥 it's like someone got up and walked out decades ago but all of their furniture was left behind. I find these ones very sad, no one there after they were gone to clean the place up for them or look after it.
