Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
Was hoping the Galway Summer Sessions would get a band like the Pixies, but not the Pixies as I've seen then 3 times now.
It's also probably the week school's start back so not sure what kind of crowd they will get
Agreed. Abominable.
Three nights in the Olympia. 😊
Hopefully a dublin date as well soon
Ha never been to show there since Jay z I think
Booking Simmonscourt for gigs should mean a one way ticket to the Hague.
Pixies announced late summer gigs. Already doing 2 in the Olympia earlier next year
Galway and rds simmonscourt for the pixies in late august
It kinda reminds me of when Kid A came out. And tickets easily available for the concerts in Punchestown. And that was an amazing concert. People will be kicking themselves missing out. And the tickets are pretty cheap for the 3 Arena. 60 quid standing still available.
Watching the KEXP show on YouTube. If more people watched it'd be sold out.
Crazy good live
Looking forward to this. Fingers crossed it's anywhere near as good as New Order in the Point a few weeks ago. Love the Olympia as a venue
Peter Hook and the Light went on general sale yesterday. I got a standing ticket, should be good.
He's gonna play the "Substance" album by Joy Division and also the "Substance" album by New Order in full (yes both bands released albums with the same name a year apart despite them basically being the same band).
Also in Monroe’s, Galway on April 26th.
Bluetones acoustic in Whelan's next April
I wasn’t aware it was acoustic, the Róísín gig not billed as such. Damn!! The whole point of those songs is to be as raucous as possible.
.
Radiohead’s international tax arrangements are highly sophisticated and akin to those of the Stones. They also broke the BDS boycott of Israel and have charged extortionate prices for the past 15 years. Having a Tibetan flag on their keyboards is the closest they’ve had to a non-corporate stance over the past fifteen years.
Certainly a whiff of Rid of me off those two. I like it.
Jollification and Sense are two excellent Lighting Seeds albums
Yes I watched it on the i player Live that day it was one of the better sets at it . one them bands you know more songs than you would think you did ,
ill might go if i get a ticket as they may sell out the academy
Had a listen on the drive earlier, I'd forgotten how many good songs they have. I thought I knew half a dozen or so, must have known about 20! I'd say that'll be a nice, fun gig
All Tvvins playing Cyprus Avenue Cork on Friday 23rd February. Know they were due to announce an Irish tour but no sign of other dates yet afaik.
Might be waiting until after their gig as part of NYE gigs in Collins Barracks on 29th December before announcing a Dublin gig.

The fact that it's an acoustic gig is really putting me off Dead Men Walking. Also playing Dolans, Cyprus Avenue and Whelans.
For those looking for an early PJ Harvey hit Fraulein might sort you out. Upstairs in Whelans Friday 12th January: https://selectivememory.ie/fraulein/
The Smile didn't sell out instantly anyway. Interesting to gauge the demand given they only have 500k listeners on Spotify...
Sign of the times when Thom Yorke and Co are resorting to Platinum tickets, do as we say not as we do.
Lightning seeds did a good set at glastonbury this year
Got tickets for the London gig instead.
Bedshaped would be a great cover if Thom ever played it
I asked Francis Rossi at his Tunes and Chats show in Scarborough last month and he said no current plans
Got tickets for The Smile, which is Thom and Jonny from Radiohead ....and also tickets for Keane ...
Kind of like chalk and cheese.
😁😁😁
