Could include water heater and softner, wouldn't be long building up. His electricity costs seem low enough too. Even to get someone to do that work is very difficult
Massive mistake.
I agree. It would be much more than that for the standard gold pipes and toilets we have in Trump Towers
Plumbing 20k there has to be a mistake
My father was going on about an organic dairy herd selling out. Not sure where he saw or read it but I suppose if you are into organics you'll know about it through some network.
Others may confirm or correct me but I think there was 3 clearance sales in Fermoy mart this week.
Cant see many signing up after the burning they got last year
Milk supply is well back and there's rumours of a lot more farmers quitting milk next year.
I'd say it's a hail mary to keep what supply they have now.
Because they know it will be a lot higher later in the year
am I missing something, how are they giving a fixed price of 40cent for some of next January's milk, when it stuck at 34 now
You should be able to change your parlour for secondhand for a lot less. But that all depends on your technicians desire to work with secondhand equipment. And sure maybe your parlour could be upgraded by just a different motor and pump. I'm blessed with my technician. I doubled up my eight unit with secondhand equipment the technician had from another parlour they took down. That was for just into the five figures installed.
Service man lives not far from here, always answers the phone and if he can't call he'll tell me what to do to fix a problem. I could have gone with thevlocal milking machine crowd here but everyone I asked told me to avoid them, after sales service is ****. I didn't even ask them for a quote
Absolutely. Every build is different anyway and it’s no one’s business asking. Getting people to service milking machine is a big problem around where I am. My old technician I gave up on a few years ago as he wouldn’t answer the phone at multiple attempts to come on to fix vacuum level but he sent me a advertisement for a new build he did recently, I was raging. He won’t fix my old run down parlour but would like if I paid him a 6 figure some to do a new one lol, the nerve.
Think you’re a bit off with recent prices, greenfield good spec parlour (not rolls rice) and everything that follows for a 20 unit. Just under 450k. Given that’s no work done by the farmer. Take off your VAT and grant. Back down to 300k cost. That was completed last year. Costs are down to last gate.
Disclaimer slatted tanks were oversized to take any overflow elsewhere. Calving /holding pens and crush also included. So shed is 20m wide by 6 bays long. Very high quality plumbing/ electrics/ shed/ steel work.
*your price for the parlour machine itself is right. Just so many other bits that add up. Good example: a good quality backup generator 6k. 🙈. Use it once a year maybe but cannot so without
Full plumbing setup looking at over 20k, electrics another 20k. Long flow channel length of the shed. Say goodbye to 15k. You add in the shed structure itself, all the Concreate inside and out, builder has to be paid. the steel work besides the shed. All Adds up!
anyone looking at a rotary I’d imagine you could be out if it for less than 1m
Straightforward plan. Make good money for all the work or get out. Easier ways to just survive. I don't pay rent.
They don't have to.
Calling them stingy or otherwise.
They've gone with a once in a lifetime build and it's their own business what they share on here.
Try Peasons...
Yes, it is the nature of things. When politicians talk about value for money for taxpayers, they should be talking about cutting poor productivity jobs from the public sector. Capital overspend is totally over-highlighted in comparison, but that is what the general public see. Plus wage overspend happens every year, capital overruns are once off.
The 2bn overrun on children's hospital? A drop in the ocean compared to unnecessary wages paid out every year. Good luck to any politician pointing that out though.
Your very stingy with information cost breakdoWn wud be nice thanks
Your going up in cow numbers but if you get another year or two like this your getting out?,..intreasting plan..sound like a local dairy man around here telling people to give up theirs cows that there's nothing to be made out of them with the costs gone up...but when they do decide to rent their farm give him a shout and he will give them good money for it

Very poor productivity across the PS, plenty of stories of money wasting and poor money management, even at 35k we're getting poor value for money
I reckon 09 was worse. On/off grazing in August. Milk price was very low. But I remember the weather was brutal.
But of course depends what part of the country you were. I thought the north west/ west got it worse in July and August this year.
Icbf ebi is a joke if u look at jersey bulls there figures are made low by false calving scores they should be 100 euro. The whole ebi of breeds bull can change afterv meeting of so called experts carbon index isca new one what if your cows have low are u going to sell all and go to mart to change.Do they not know it taked years or a lifetime to breed a specific type if animal
The civil service is full of depressed house-cats. The 35k starting salary is scant compensation for a man's self worth.
Many units Whelan?
i gave up on the icbf along time ago.
best of luck with it. we doubled up in units 2 years ago and we don't know ourselves. Put in the matts on parlour floor as soon as you can. well worth the money.
What's your friend hauling. Might give us a few ideas
Easy buy all that without paying for it. Monthly repayments and hefty loan. Still has to work hard to have these things. Nothing comes cheap
