Anyway, we have about another 4.5 years left before she divorces him, to meet the 10 yr mark for California divorce law rule to kick in. I will check back in then.

What is this divorce law rule and what does it pertain?

A bulldozer will need to be employed next time!

Harry conspicuous by his absence - he's no longer required on her latest voyage (no, that's not a sly reference to her yachting days)

She "forgot" she'd given Scobie info when he was writing "Funding Freedom". She's going to be forgetful again, by the looks of it

Unexpectedly, I'd like to thank Meghan for barging her way into the Power of Women event - solely because I had a look at some of the coverage and found the gorgeous, talented, bright, beautiful Emily Blunt was there. Fair made my day!

Thanks Meghan. Now GTFO and make way for real talent!!

She referred to someone as "enormous" in a conversation over 10 years ago? Evil fat shamer!! Prince Harry literally dressed up as a Nazi for a laugh? Poor guy it wasn't his fault!

10 years ago, when she was a naïve 30 year old?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,708 ✭✭✭valoren

So during an interview, while telling a story, she made an aside joke remark about how she was served by a waitress in some generic restaurant chain and said by way of explaining the waitress' corpulence that this "enormous" woman must be getting free meals. In the history of the "Yo Momma so Fat" type jokes it doesn't rank highly. In reading up on her quotes she was referring to the general obesity epidemic in the US itself i.e. Is it any wonder Americans are so fat because of places like Chili's.

What's actually more offensive for me is that someone picked up on something she said 12 years ago, got all offended by it, made it go viral because it involves a famous person and then Blunt had to apologise. Being cynical, it all neatly coincided right when she was promoting a new movie because no one remembered it to bring it up previously.

The last time I saw Blunt was her working with Christopher Nolan in a movie that is just shy of a billion dollars in box office, regarded as one of the best movies so far in this century and for which she’ll probably get a deserved Oscar nomination. She'll be fine. I guess there are some people who can do 99 out of 100 things right but when they err then they'll be castigated for it by those who of course never make mistakes at all. Similarly there are people who you can do 99 things right by but mess up for them once and they'll tear you to strips forever for that one f*ck up.

Funnily enough Harry and Meghan strike me as being like that e.g. Willy had a bigger bedroom in our Royal Palace – I’m a victim, talking to toilets, waagh. Somehow I doubt the likes of Christopher Nolan will be calling either of them up any time soon to adapt that Romance book they bought the film rights to.

I'm now sorry I inadvertently might have drawn a comparison between Emily Blunt, a talented actress; and Meghan, a call sheet actress on a cable tv series. Silly me. There is no comparison.

I promise it won't happen again.

Oh right, I didn't know it was working waitress that was serving her, like her life wasn't tough enough already. Poor girl.

Yes, Meghan is a far superior actress. Rap on knuckles. 😉

Yeah she’s with that new media promotion group, name escapes me, favoured by A listers- reckon this is part of the millions she’s paying them - so reckon each one of these photos have cost her a pretty penny in advance - hope they’re worth it

When her money runs out so will they

I wonder how much the "Looking at the back of Leonardo Di Caprios head" tickets go for? 😄

Lol how do you know how tough her life was? Patronising much? As far as I'm aware this anonymous, completely unidentifiable waitress from over a decade ago has never come forward or asked for anyone's sympathy.

Why is there this weird need to make everyone who might possibly outshine Meghan look bad? So they were at the same event, who cares really? But no, it's time to bring Emily blunt down a peg or two! How dare she be an acclaimed and very successful actress when Meghan is around 🙄

So they were at the same event, who cares really?

Certainly not me, you are misdirecting your ire here, I'm not the one who brought them up and compared them.

    That would be pointless.

Hilary Rose has written a piece on H&M in The Times. It's behind a paywall, unfortunately, but still well worth a read. It's a withering re-imagination of Harry's diary for 2023.

    Here are a few snippets

Winter 2022. We’ve been reflecting quietly for a few months on how awesome we are, and yet how cruelly misunderstood. “We’re humanitarians!” I yelled at the chickens only this morning. “It is in the very DNA of our foundation, because Archewell is from the Greek word for… arches? Wellness?” The chickens only look at me and cluck.

“They are chickens,” says the gardener, who is wise, “and they cluck.” “You are wise,” I tell him, and he nods and passes me the spliff. Later, a call comes through from the PR guy. “Great news,” he says. “You’ve been nominated for an award. It’s for being awesome but misunderstood.”

Meg’s pretending to write an oat milk investment strategy, but is secretly looking at the coverage of Willy and Kate taking the children to church on Easter Sunday. “Ugh,” she says. “Such attention-seekers. Who do they think they are? And leveraging their royal links by using their children. Pathetic.” “Isn’t that why you called your daughter Lilibet?” says the comms guy, who lives in the porch for our convenience, but realistically not for much longer. As soon as he says it, he clamps his hand over his mouth. “I didn’t mean to say that out loud,” he says.

So Meg’s podcast has been cancelled and I stage a tactical retreat to the chicken coop, where I find the gardener. I sometimes wonder if he ever does any actual gardening, or if he spends all his time with the chickens smoking spliffs. “I went over towards the house not long ago,” he says, “but man, did I have a bad trip. My head turned into a sandwich. The coop is my safe space.” I tell him I know exactly how he feels, “because empathy for others is in my DNA, unless you’re related to me, in which case piss off’. He passes me the spliff. “It’s so unjust,” I say. “Her podcast was all about the labels that hold women back, but it’s been cancelled before she got to the bit about the positive impact marrying a prince can have on your life chances.”

When do you all normally get your Christmas invitation to Sandringham lads? Looks like H&M haven’t received theirs yet- maybe the postman in Montecito is a bit slow 😀

The pigeon carrier is on it's way. If that article is true, apparently they're looking for heightened protection in an already very secure place.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,708 ✭✭✭valoren

Presumably Harry got the apology he has been asking for then since an "insider" is saying they're happy to go to Sandringham for Christmas if invited? Charles should invite them and the Markle family as well. One big happy family reunion. 😄

More likely that they know they're persona non grata and so they put out BS PR to make them appear reconcilliatory while his family come across as cold and univiting. I'd say they're done with such gaslighting but this is probably the papers still predictably wringing some material out of this.

The pigeon carrier can't fly commercial, because of security concerns. Its probably trying to bum a ride on a private jet - likely candidates might be Tyler Perry, Elton John, Cameron Diaz, President Biden??

Yeah a simple made up story - you can tell they’re waiting to see if H&M will pay a visit - I’d doubt it very much

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,789 ✭✭✭Karppi

I don't believe for one moment that the King would invite them (and I don't think that William and Catherine would be chomping at the bit to see them - ever again) but can you begin to imagine the list of terms and conditions they would set out if they were to be invited, before they could possible deign to consider accepting?

I see the DM article says that King Charles wants to spend more time with his grandchildren. It's also pretty clear whose children he means, following his speech in Kenya

'It was here, in sight of Mount Kenya, that my son, The Prince of Wales, proposed to his wife, now my beloved daughter-in-law.'

I'd say more plates were smashed that day in Montecito. Well, they made their bed....
