I think we should send Una Healy next year. She is about our only female with star power. But she needs to be given a modern upbeat poppy song similar to this Swedish wan who won, not one of her country ballads.

Attempting to mimic what other countries are doing is not a good route to doing well either imo.
A long list of female artists I would send before her Orla Gartland, Sorcha Richardson or if we want to go bigger and more known Lyra or someone similar. Someone authentic who ideally also wrote the song.
Alternatively, young Irish language singers like Sibeal ni Chasaide or Niamh Farrell would be perfect (not dissimilar to what we have been doing in Junior Eurovision).
I would have zero issue with someone like that either. The young girl we had in junior eurovision last year had a cracking voice (despite being ill on the day)

The question is would they be interested. It needs to be someone who wants \ can perform on the big stage. Maybe someone who wants to improve their profile on the continent, do gigs there etc. To add to the names already noted - Soda Blonde or Tolu Makay perhaps.
Soda Blonde are one of the worst bands Ireland has ever produced. The entire band have no star power or charisma, and their songs are dire.
Well, I think they'd have showed up better at Eurovision that most of our entries this century! My point about it needing to be someone willing to to do it, and put the time in to boosting their profile in Eurovision voting countries stands.
Lol star power, only reason she was in the news lately was for sitting on David Haye.

Malmö is what I was hoping for! Will definitely try to go again this year, and hopefully fit in Copenhagen too.
I'd definitely fit in Copenhagen if you're there, the train lets you go straight over easily enough and Copenhagen is a wonderful city to visit with a wide set of options depending on preferences and you can even include such places such as Legoland etc. (train goes there from Copenhagen main rail station combined with bus for the last bit etc.).
Could also stay in Copenhagen and get the train across for the final (I did it a previous year) worked out well, because Denmark won that year so got to go to a winners concert as well.
We will never get to see Sinead in the Eurovision. Didn't she say once she'd be up for doing it?
