Your personal experience is only yours.
Educate the owners, proper dog licensing, educate the breeders, proper breeders licensing etc. No excuses entertained. That would be the way, imo. For a starter.
Could quote few of your posts here to suggest a bit of education would do you well 😉
Feel free to educate me.
Although nothing you post happens in Ireland. No controls, no abiding rules, no breeding management. No muzzles on restricteded breeds.
You can do that yourself, if there's a will. Instead of posting the usual rubbish this thread is full of by now.
For your second paragraph, well I know, that's why I'm saying what I'm saying...
No muzzles on restricteded breeds.
You would be surprised. There's plenty who do follow the rules.
You quote my posts as needing education. Which one?
The one where owners don't control their dogs? The one that mentions XL bully's having no place in civilised society?
Which one offends you? Was it the one where I asked my anyone needs a restricted breed, apart from criminals, people with low self estem?
Or perhaps the post where I mentioned it's not acceptable for dogs to attack people because of **** owners.
Which one are you? I know that **** owners and their dogs upset me. What's in my posts that upsets you?
Educate me!
We own a RR and have previously owned that breed. I take great offence at being labelled a criminal or a person of low self esteem.
OK. You are entitled to feel offended.
The general public is legally entitled to their personal safety.
If you are a responsible owner and control your dog, on a short lease, with a muzzle. Then perhaps you should not be offended??
For a starter, learn to read.
I'm not upset, or offended as you suggested. Dunno why is this path always pushed through, when someone disagree with posters proposing ban this and that.
Look at your opening post on this thread?
..
You will have to explain this post to me. What is your point? Sorry but I dont see what you think the problem might be.
Was it the post where I said cull XL bully's and their **** owners? That one? Do you have one of those monsters?
Oh Jesus no, I don't own any monsters 😁
....
You would be wasting your time
Good for you. So in your words "For a starter, learn to read" ...for a STARTer, what is it you want me to read?
My posts, like a lot of others is that we should not have to be exposed to dangerous dogs. Why should my kids have to walk/play whilst scum bags with evil dogs, out of control roam free.People with no care or consideration for others.
There are hundreds perhaps thousands of dog breeds. Choose something that does not have killiing capabilities.
Why anyone needs a dog breed for fighting lions in an Irish urban environment is beyond me.
Can't help it sometimes.
Nor can I either, its like playing chess with a pigeon.
Some people just cant see how their behaviour is socially irresponsible and down right disrespectful.
Responsible owners dont defend **** owners and **** breeds.
Look I'll leave you to it. Not here to fight. There will be aways posts here like yours. With the same rhetorics, not so sure why.
Sure you can leave that to your dog to do the fighting for you:-)
What dog do you have? Why are you energised by some random poster on the Internet?
Is your dog one of these XL bully's, or a lion killing capable dog?
How about you read this. I can't be bothered looking past this forum for you.

I am pretty sure no dog is capable of killing a lion
What about capacity to kill a child? Is that better? Happy now?...nope you no doubt wont be.
So, to save you wasting your time finding a random article of a King Charles spaniel biting someone's little finger. Let's cut to the chase.......I take your point. Capable of hunting a lion?
Details are important. Happier now?

I agree. Our last boy Cody had the capability to easily dispatch a human IF he wanted to but I cannot imagine any scenario where that would be necessary.
Our new boy Max is 8 months and already 39 kg .
My point is we are responsible owners. We would never allow a situation where our RR was uncontrolled and free to harm a human.
Capable of hunting a lion?
The biggest misconception about Ridgebacks and lions: The former never made contact with the latter, but rather teased and disoriented them, much as a matador taunts a bull...

This thread is full of misinformation used by some posters to push through their stupid ideas when it comes to dogs.
Edit: That's something I don't really understand. I understand some peeps have genuine worries, which I get it, completely normal. Some peeps are not the dog people. I get it too. But some posts here are way out of anything I actually understand. Must be either plain ignorance, bloodlust, concerned citizens with zero knowledge (that's the most scary scenario imo), or just playing stupid word games. Dunno, I'm probably getting too old to follow. Anyway, personally I'm enjoying being around the dogs, you don't have to buy or pursue their loyalty, it comes naturally, the more you invest into that relationship, the more you get back. It's that simple. Doesn't matter the size or weight. Plenty of people doesn't realise that, I would say..
If I am the poster you refer to, let me respond. I like dogs, I have three. I choose to have a beagle, and mini schnauzers. I quite like German shepherds but would not have one. I dont think it's fair to muzzle them and to always have them on a short lead. The risk associated with owning one is too high.
Seems everyone's dogs on here are 100% trustworthy 100% of the time. They must be amazing. Me I don't trust any animal.
If you are a responsible owner then my comments are clearly not directed at you
But no one I see, who owns any restricted breed even pretends to follow the rules. Coupled with zero enforcement.
eh no thanks
Insightful posts 101 here : “Your wasting your time”and “eh no thanks”
Thanks for your contribution on the subject of dangerous dog owners.
Why bother responding to these people?
What's that they say about dogs and their owners...
This thread bears that out well anyway.
Sone dogs are absolute w**kers
Enough said.
Oh thank you much appreciated .
I agree 100% with you. I have a small dog, properly trained, and know other owners with small properly trained dogs as well. Even so, we know there is still a small risk that they could bite, that they could attack, they are dogs.
With an XL bully, a German shepherd, a RR, those risks are no longer small, they are much bigger, and that is not a risk I am prepared to take with the safety of children being paramount. If your mini schnauzer nipped a child, and the chances of that happening are infinitesimally small, the worst is a tetanus injection and a small scar and a fear of dogs for life, if it is an XL bully or RR, the chances are much much higher and the outcome could be death or disfigurement.
Some people are callous or careless enough to own an XL bully or RR, but they are far from responsible and far from being good neighbours, whether they realise it or not.
Do I see the attempt to suggest the only good responsible owners and neighbors are the ones who owns dogs size of the rabbit...
Thank goodness I live in the middle of nowhere, if that's the case.
