Sarsfields v Ballygunner on Sunday will be live on TG4
The Senior Camogie All-Ireland Champions Cork claimed a phenomenal eight All Star awards, and amongst the winners was captain Amy O’Connor, Katrina Mackey and Hannah Looney from their forward line, Libby Coppinger, Meabh Cahalane and Laura Treacy from the defensive line, goalkeeper Amy Lee and finally Saoirse McCarthy.
Mathew Twomey named manager of the year
Unacceptable to not have given Seán Power of Waterford the Manager of the Year I think. Winning League and getting them to All Ireland Final
Ballygunner v Sars game almost over after 16 mins
Ballygunner 1-7 Sars 0-3
Ballygunner are at a different league to Sars.
Cork club hurling still not good enough.
Correct. But I do think Sars will get back into this and make it more competitive, wind at their backs in the second half will help. Can't see them winning however.
If anything, Sars actually got worse in the second half, brutal display altogether.
Not at the races at all. Well beaten and no answers. 9 points not good enough at this level.
Don't think this game even helped Ballygunner. It was so one sided
You would expect the cork and tipp senior club championships to be off a high standard with the amount of schools playing at harty cup level from both counties. Instead it is the opposite.
People in both Championships absolutely laud every match as an 'epic' etc., when it's generally far from the fact.
I don't see any of either championships bar what's on TG4 and the last few Tipperary finals have been good, competetive games. Three draws in recent years and fair spread of winners. Not sure of the over all quality though but I'd rather a championship like this with a few teams in contention than a one club dominated championship like in Waterford.
The tipp winners last year had a few lads who were clearly overweight. That is the standard of club hurling in tipp.
Id give Kilruane some bit of a pass for last years performance.
3rd game in 15 days and a team who had won their first county final in 40 years.
Sarsfields were abject today. Like a team that had downed tools after the county final.
Tipp champions have generally done ok outside the county. No club in Tipp has the concentration of inter county talent that the likes of Ballygunner or Ballyhale have so its not surprising they are a level below that standard, but both county final games this year were very good quality as well as competitive.
Competitive yes but the quality was poor. It's like talking about this year's joe mcdonagh final. What a match. However are either Carlow or Offaly top quality teams. Not a hope. Same can be said for clubs from tipp and cork.
I thought they quality was very decent. Two good teams. I would have been amazed and very disappointed if either team gave a display against Ballygunner as bad as what we saw today.
The two Tipp finals this year i thought was a fairly decent standard. Both Thurles and Kiladangan looked well conditioned to me. Was listening to a Limerick man on Our Game recently (think it was Leo O Connor) who is living in Tipp and he said he was impressed with standard of club hurling in all the different grades in Tipp.
Absolutely. Both teams in great nick.
Was a decent standard considering the spread of inter county players in Tipp.
Like, of the 2 teams, only Ronan Maher you could call a Tipperary regular.
I dont think a single Tipperary starter featured in last years CF.
You look at Limerick and KK finals and they are littered with present and former inter county stars and All Stars.
Could have won it for sure, but it wasn’t the Division 1 league Waterford won. They would have been expected to win that league title in reality. Massive achievement to get the girls to the AI however & would still have been a worthy recipient had he won it.

Behind a paywall but an interesting article on the SARS game v Ballygunnar https://www.independent.ie/sport/gaelic-games/martin-breheny-sarsfields-rout-in-munster-the-latest-example-of-an-alarming-cork-decline/a773561726.html
I was at the county final as a neutral and said to my Dad that that SARS team was one of the poorest winners of a county championship I'd seen...the problem is they were better than everyone else in the county which is worrying. Cork hurling still in the doldrums I'm afraid
We have won three out of the last four all Irelands at u20 level though. I don't think we're that far off at all. The record of our clubs outside of Cork in recent years has been very poor alright though.
Age groups are going back to U18 and U21 - correct decision, should never have been changed.
Is that just in Cork or nationwide?
Agreed to in Cork, but will need Congress for National.
Final year Minors will only be able to play Junior A down, not at a higher level.

Good win for Castlehaven today 1-12 v 0-11 v Cratloe aet
Cill na Martha had a fine win in the Intermediate Quarter final 1-17 v 0-07
