The king is dead, long live the king.
Only 102 days to lights out for 2023..
Ye Boards is really gone **** lately. I was trying to change my profile picture last night and it would not let me do it :(
That's a pity. You'll just have to Kling-on to your current profile picture....
Lol except it is Romulan lol.
Same. I jumped over to bbc website without noticing the date of the tweet. @flazio should get a week’s ban for that. 😁
I call bs as Toyota is not even on the technical group for F1 engines.
Interlagos to stay on calendar until 2030.
Apparently Haas have lodged a petition for a right of review for the US GP. They had 2 weeks after the race to do so. It relates to the failure of the FIA to penalise drivers who cut turn 6. Haas said Albon did it 6 times, Perez 18, Stroll 16 and Sargeant 3. Perez could potentially drop to 10th position as a result of this and lose 11 points.
Oh that would be very bad for Perez. He would lose second place in the drivers standing to Hamilton too. Personally I hope uts left alone. Nothing worse than the drivers positions in the race being changed long after the race is over. It should be no more than a week at most. Why are Haas so late with there petition?
I think he'd still be up by about 10 points but it would increase the pressure on him even more. Not sure why they left this late tbh (they lodged the appeal a couple of days ago), think they were waiting for the onboards but surely didn't take that long. Few people on reddit joking that they left it until after the Mexican GP to avoid abuse there.
Ye maybe but if he does not do well today and Hamilton finishes ahead of him it will probably be Hamilton finishing second at the end of the season in the drivers standings which puts Sergios position at Red Bull in big doubt.

Awe OK lol.
I presume I am late to the game and this has been seen by all?
I just saw it. It's very good.
Ferrari Las Vegas livery:
I wonder how many teams will do this? I am going to as well as Ferrari that Mercedes, Red Bull, Haas and Mclaren definitely will and maybe Alfa Romeo.
Red Bull already did their special livery in austin
As this is a night race, it will look amazing under the Vegas lights.
RB,Haas,Mclaren, Alfa and Williams all had a one off livery this season. Can you only change the livery once?
If I wanted to grow my brand in a new location, I would keep my classic branding to maximise recognition and there's no way I'd do a one-off livery.
Not exactly a fan of the one off liveries unless it celebrates something significant like Ferraris 1000th GP livery but the cars have too much exposed carbon to make a properly nice livery
McLaren have had a "Triple crown" livery and a "Chrome" look so far this year. Ferrari also had a "Le Mans" inspired look at Monza
Think I remember reading that teams can run an alternative livery at 3 GPs - was it the beginning of this season that Alpine ran a pink BWT livery?
Alternate liveries are a marketing gimmick, like the sprint race.
The sport is a marketing gimmick. The only question for the viewer is whether it's entertaining. I don't care about liveries but it generates social media traffic as demonstrated by this exchange
With all the build up earlier this week I actually thought Las Vegas was this weekend. I was disappointed when I went to find some racing on Friday morning
Haha actually had the same happen to me this week too
Not quite F1 but F3 related, and maybe a talent to watch out for...
Alex Dunne, Irishman from Offaly, is this year's British F4 champion and joins Hi-tech racing for next week's F3 Macau GP. This is a tough race and hope he runs well.
Onwards and upwards Alex 🇮🇪
Love to hear that. He's just turned 18 yesterday so plenty of time to develop. Fair play
Its race week.
Seeing as most teams change their liveries every year, I don't think this would impact recognition that much. Along with the fact that there are plenty of other televised races throughout the year. This creates an interest for each team as well, so it probably creates more of a brand impact for them.
No issue with alternative branding. My issue is the Americans don't know what the normal livery looks like, so there's little point shoeing them an alternative livery.
An alternative livery makes sense in an established market where the flashy livery will grab the camera and attract eyeballs. But in a growing market, I'd just want my normal branding. No point showing them a liver they'll never see again.
They can (and are) marketing it as a Vegas special, that is great for branding and marketing.
