I would be surprised if the next presenter for the slot wasn’t a woman. Of course there’s female voices across the day with Shauna, Maria, Eimear and The Last Word contributors but if they didn’t replace Pamela with a woman, you would not hear a single female presenter from 7-7.
If only we'd get Anton back in that slot. D&D were at their best at lunchtime but not sure about Dave on his own

The point was made above that Ryan Tubridy making a comeback on Today FM wouldn't work as his style isn't in tone with Today FM's identity. Well, doesn't Anton Savage have a similar presenting style to Tubs?
I would think Anton Savage will replace Pat Kenny on Newstalk in the not so distant future.

Isn’t Paula McSweeney now doing that hour before Ian? It seems to be that the hour is tied up as a responsibility of the person who does 7-10pm. They likely scrapped Early Breakfast initially as a cost-cutting exercise so I would be surprised if they had any intention of paying a presenter to go back to it.
Savage at least puts enthusiasm in his shows and doesnt descend into misery porn or expressing his man crush on JFK

It seems madness to voluntarily throw away an daytime show on an national radio station, especially in a cost of living crisis and with the radio market here been so small
