I’m biased on the C5, here’s a mk1 facelift, on the CO2 tax. Long NCT. Looks clean and not mad mileage. €1,500.

Edit of the edit....forgot about leaving a space after the link!
Edit...done deal link not working. It's supposed to be a 406 estate 2.0 HDi NCT to end Jan for 1100!

That’s a rare find these days. Bit short on NCT.
Yeah, I'd be wary of a rusty subframe or something like that.....Still might get someone out of a hole for a while
Good solid car these. Clutches are iffy but this one has been done. I think it is 182 miles not KM's.
I had an automatic one of these 11 years ago and I loved it. Exact same colour as that one. Love that he points out that the 243k miles are genuine 😂
For a long time it went totally dead in here as the prices started to rocket and the increase to €3,000 was long overdue and finally brought back some activity here again, but I've noticed over the last few months that prices seem to be finally starting to drop again.
A lot of the recent cars posted here are even coming in under the €2,000 level which is great to finally see again.
Just spotted this one now
2007 Skoda Octavia, very genuine looking car and ad, tax and NCT until next March, timing belt and water pump done and clutch with dual mass flywheel also and all 4 wheel bearings replaced too and same owner for last 9 years, never mind a recent gearbox service and new brake pads front and rear too and to top it all of it's running on a full set of Michelins!
Can't see this hanging around too long at that price!! As for the mileage, 340k kms on the 1.9tdi engine is hardly run in 😂 Those engines will genuinely go on forever if they're given an occasional service at all

So busy waffling, I forgot to add the price!
€1200
A lovely clean well minded car by the looks of it. A new set of number plates would have it looking tip top.
The tyres alone are probably over €600.
4 months tax on her too! Even if it fails next nct spectacularly, weigh it in and you would have had a free car for a few months!
Leftfield choice here, convertible Mini anyone? Long NCT in it. I think Harry could do a bit more of a price drop on this, given the time of year and it’s nearly a 20 year old car now…€2,650 currently.

Mini ONE 2006 PRICE DROP!!!
I’ve heard they are incredibly unreliable?
I wouldn't part with 700 for this. And is that a fake phone stuck to the dash???
Chrome strips too! Good lord.
ROVER 75 NEW NCT for sale in Co. Cavan for €1,700 on DoneDeal
You’ll still look very stylish in this with the top down on the side of the road waiting for the tow truck 😂😂
Needs to be de badged and de blinged, there's a nice sound off the V6
Must be one of the highest mileage cars in the country, 930,000km and new nct for over a year.

Crikey!!!! And I am not fond of that DSG gearbox. Goes to show if you mind a car it will last.
A few things piss me off about that add
1 is that he says its in the family since new yet it has 10 previous owners
2 is that he says the car gets fully serviced every month, nobody services their car every month.
3 is the fact he thinks its worth more because it has high mileage, and that it will end up in a museum
And 4 is the usual “if it doesn’t sell I’l keep it”
Being quite high to tax, it could have changed owners to avoid arrears, the usual crack.
Being 180 months old with that mileage and having your own facilities it would be easy to drop the oil every month. My nephew does it with his partners Octavia (he's a mechanic) it costs him a fiver for the filter from the auto factor and he uses the bulk oil. The other two are, as you say, the usual bladder🥴
I wonder how many DSG gearboxes has that car gone through at that mileage? They were quite unreliable back then.
Trigger's broom comes to mind.
@User1998 - "A few things piss me off about that add

Irish solution to an Irish problem. Motor tax a tad too high? Just tax it for 3 months, drive it around for a year and then go into Garda station to get it stamped. Rinse and repeat. When that route was closed off, just tax it for 3 months, drive it around for a year, sell it to your wife, who would tax it for a year, rinse and repeat
Zero enforcement leads to this sort of cute-hoorism. Impossbile in almost any other EU state...
Came here to post that!! Ad is a headache to read....Still, imagine the satisfaction if you got it to tick over the million km mark 🤣
Decent petrol 7 seat lugger for the school runs/football etc
'07 Mazda 5

'06 Jetta
1.9 tdi

Looks very decent for a Jetta of this era. Not many left original!
Asking €1,950

Those Jettas are good solid cars. I had one for years. Sold to BIL and he ran it up to 400,000km with no issues.
These had a decent spec too, cruise control and a decent stereo (for the era).
I think pretty much all of their petrol engines are bulletproof. We’ve had a few of them in the family for 15+ years with no issues.
This, but with smaller 1.5 and 1.6 L units.
Were they not a bit of a b@$ tard for burning oil? Mate had a Mazda 6. He eventually had to scrap it because
he couldn't get it through a test. He was the second owner and it had a full main dealer service history. I think
they used the same 1.8 petrol engine?
Yeah that was the same 1.8 litre petrol engine found in Fords and Volvos at the time, they were known for burning oil alright.
My dad's Toyota Corolla needs a new home. In good condition but basic terra model. Just serviced and had a few bits done to pass NCT.
