You would hope so but... they left common sense and logic at the gate a long time ago when it comes to agriculture.
I'd have more faith in the civil servants in the Dept of Finance now rather than any TD. Those mandarins will hopefully remind the politicians that losing jobs in an indigenous industry, based in rural Ireland, is not a good look. Neither is reducing agri-food exports when it's one of the few success stories the country ever had, even if farmers don't get the benefit they deserve from it.
With a gen election on horizon and sf looking like they’ll play large part in a new govt …….you’d be worried
Current government is seen as a safe-pair of hands internationally re doing business here and not rocking the boat, if sf got into government with a coalition of left wing independents, all bets would be off, borrowing costs would soar overnight and if this coincided with the corporation tax take collapsing over going back to even 2019 levels, we'd be a basket case country in a few short months

Dont worry lad farmers will get the country going again isnt that what they said back after last bang.In reality farming is the only real industry in this country.We have no mined well one in meath its closed.No manufacturing cus people are better on dole.Tourism is fimished cus too expensive and refugees living in hotels.Multinational will leave cus its too ecpensivebto operate here cus everyones ripping each other off.I dont know why i work so hard and to read here people watching neighbours during the day when they shud be working

where will tegasc advice go now …..they through there advice since quotas went and shoving of kiwi style dairying despite all the welfare and enviro issues with there system has us on a cliff edge …..they have gotten a very soft ride through all this nitrates /banding and calf issues
Had to go back through my current account this.morning to check something and saw that our August and September milk checks are down 40% on 22 same months.i think we ve kinda coasted through so far on 22 s money but if we don't have a substantial rise before main season milk next year things are going to get scary.i see now the minimum wage is nearly 500 a week,alot of sub 100 cow farms will struggle to have that out of it for the hour s worked this year
