A pit bull dog below in Wexford the latest episode of a child been savaged . Are these dogs suitable for pets .
PS The only people with Pitbulls or similar in our town are involved in drug dealing and or general criminality.

Once you ban a breed another one will be “upgraded” by people who will tarnish its reputation. The problem isn’t the breed, but it’s people using them as accessories and weapons. You can train any type to attack, but they aren’t currently popular with the consumers.

Since there's so many posters calling for a ban for some dogs, as in it will sort the problem. I ask what do they think ban will achieve.
Trust me when I say I don't want to see any serious attacks on people, especially on kids, by any dogs either. Well any attacks when it comes to.
There needs to be context before you ask to ban anything ! I'm pointing out the horrific injuries those breeds have caused ! A ban is a moot point ! As I said , those breeds" that should be muzzled in public aren't! , what I hope it achieves is that I don't have to see children disfigured by savages !

Well for a start theres a child in Wexford called alejandro that wouldn't be left with life changing injuries, nevemind the numerous fatalities they caused ! And the excuse " well its never behaved that way before " is trite and unacceptable, I remember reading about a woman in County louth having to play dead because a Japanese Akita was tearing her apart , no doubt someone's doting pet , GET REAL !
I really don’t understand why people don’t train their dogs properly. I have had one that was difficult but even that one was manageable. It’s 100% the owners unless the attack was provoked by a human.
I usually liken the deluded and half arsed owners whose dogs cause incidents to drivers who lack any foresight, and we have all encountered those idiots especially on the motorway. The same goes for people who are “scared” of dogs and who will demonise anything they do because they don’t understand them.

I don't let my dogs near to any people, without them being on lead. Unless it's outside the public places and it's being done with people who knows my dogs and dogs knows them. Simple. And to assure you, I wouldn't let my dogs anywhere near to you, for their own good 😉

Set up a dangerous dogs hotline where the public can report such dogs and remove them. Shouldn't be up to the general public to shoot them when they threaten people/animals.
Another XL bully attack in the UK today. It's astonishing the level of inaction from government in protecting people's safety. You just know there will be further attacks here from dangerous breeds until it reaches the level of outrage it takes for anything to happen in this country.
Doesn't matter how many attacks occur in this country, 'the owner not the dog' brigade come out in defence of their little poodles. Throw in the paralysis from the bunch of donkeys in the dail who are more concerned with Ireland solving the world's problems, and this issue will be kicked down the road.

Lots of dogs in the wrong environment can turn out to be unsuitable pets. Border collies need work and to burn up that energy... personally I don't think it's fair to have one in a an urban environment.

As a dog person, the problem I have with pitbull type breeds is that if they do turn they cannot easily be controlled or stopped without drastic measures
Then you often have the low IQ degenerates that try to weaponize them which doesn't help.
They already have some in action for a different breeds, in case you've missed it.
