Credit union would be the best bet I'd say then, still waiting on a call can the cultivate loan be used to refinance a milk-flex loan
It's pathetic really, but look nothing will surprise you with the way things seem to be run now. You would hope its not sinister and finance Ireland aren't up to any shenanigans. They were extremely quick to put up there interest rates on all products though so you'd wonder how strong they are too.
Just unfortunate for people in a tight year trying to get all the bills paid.
Know a lad through first hand experience that wants to take on an outside block that’s nearly 1.5 times his own and put cows on it and he’ll be out before Christmas spreading slurry on his own farm and feck all facilities on land he want to rent and cleary not up to scratch at home. That sums it all up where farming is at, may I add a poster boy.
It's basically theft thats after occurring, if this is wholesale your probably into millions of euro taken, anyone with other co-ops on here in milkflex where their was a double payment taken, is it just a tirlain issue our all the co-ops involved....
The fact we are only finding out about this now, after finally getting our milk statements a day late is more alarming, tirlain/finance Ireland surely aren't oblivious to what has occurred and should of made contact with us yesterday
Finance Ireland interest rates linked to eurobor….every time ecb put up rates there interest rate goes up to thinks it’s eurobor plus 3.75
Money is ment to be refunded into accounts tomorrow, just seen a message on phone was sent at 4 thought it was for milk quality results but was about the above
I agree but that's how we as farmers think ....not how the department/powers that be think .....just look at the email shouting about sewage today .....no way they would have mentioned it before the dero cut was pushed through. Farmers especially dairy farmers areclooked at like something the cat dragged in
Ya wouldn't be half the rush to milking cows if beet was left alone.....it was some scandal the sugar company bosses should have been jailed
Who's that with please kev pm if you like
.... or not
How do you avail of dairy-flex mentioned it to boi rep on phone and said it wasn't a option, for refinancing milk-flex loan
Ok well at least it will be sorted
Amm…maize?
True.
Then again the Government interference in Ag never involves giving money, they interfere in the land market…no land speculation, no non-farming investors, restricted rents etc etc. mean that land value reflects the possible future earnings from that land when farmed. Great for those buying land, awful for those selling. Who here would vote for their land values to drop from €25k an acre to €2.5k?
Farm orgs pushed for long term leases it made alot of big farms bigger buisness people got involved in buying land to avail of tax free now farmers are complaing
You should see some of thr attempts at harvesting it this year
Theres an accompanying video. Forager pulling the tractor and trailer and a loading shovel pushing…..
I'd vote for that
from Jan 1st 2024 business people who buy land will have to own the land 7years before they can rent it out and avail of the tax free leasing... a great move
It suits armchair farmers and I investors not working farmers
Serious crops last few years. Grown this year at 130m in our area and seems like a good result.
Gobsmacked at the cost of growing though and wonder if something is out of kilter here regarding seed, fert, sprays etc.
Expensive land of course, but no irrigation required..
Re financing: the Credit Union have a limit of €75k for agri loans but they also have leeway to go above that in certain cases. Interest rate is 6.5%
Seen loads of fields like that ….question has to be asked why in a field like so ….lots of crops drilled late too which means late harvest and the risks it brings
Zero issue in my local branch ….told them what it was for was approved within a week
Me actually Dawg. I would far rather have the opportunity to create a viable business rather than operating in the sh1tshow that we do here re land availability.
Same here.
I would it's completely mental in this country... the whole lot of it
Not to mention the grain crops list this year ....... been a hard year for all types of farming ....
What's the reasoning behind the prices paid for sucker in calf heifer and cow's...Maybe gruller cos of your experience could answer 🤔....I'm aware this Is probably not the corner for it
For refinancing a loan from another provider though? The list is;
"New Bulk Tank and Cooling Equipment, Repay Co-op Trading Debt, Land Purchase, Farm Development, Machinery and Stock Purchases. Retrospective Funding for Farm Development ex Cash Flow"
A big help would be we stopped planting houses in every field in the country.
