With all those multi-bulb chandeliers everywhere, they must have some electric bill.
Between the downstairs hall and the landing there must be 12 bulbs alone.
Probably LED bulbs and chances are lamps are used more than overhead lights.
Laundering all the bloody cushion covers and unnecessary pillow cases would be a bigger issue.
I’d assume by the decor that it’s Granny’s house and bunk beds are purely there for occasional visits
And the shower seat in the bathroom.
It's so fussy, I had to leave it and clear my head 😁.
The bunk beds took me by surprise because I assumed it was an older person's home. It's like as if Mrs Bucket (Keeping Up Appearances) was let loose and told to do her worst.
Going to attempt to look at it again now.
https://www.daft.ie/for-sale/detached-house-knockglass-house-knockglass-crossmolina-co-mayo/5412099 - I don't think this has been on here before? It has a lot of potential. A bit of forested land and borders a river. Nice.
Oh my goodness, I was not expecting that for an interior!! That's gorgeous.
And over 5000 sq ft..... can you imagine how much that would be anywhere within striking distance of Dublin?
A bargain at €1.2 million!
How the hell did they get the two caravans in? Looks like a crane must have been used.
Thats a fabulous house. Its very good value priced at €1.2M - you really are getting alot for that price
A lot of heating bills! 🙄
The thing is you'd be getting a 3 bed near the coast, fantastic public transport, stones thrown from town for under 350k just needs a refurb, the mad front drive replaced, and the garden reinstated.
This house used to be the official residence of the Bishop many years ago.
True, and really it only needs some redecorating, once the furniture is gone even that might not be that big a deal. It appears to be in excellent condition, all the floors are laminate, the kitchen is nice (with new tiles) and the bathroom is fine. It seems to be well looked after and in good condition, biggest job would be changing all the light fittings! I'd say the back yard has been given a quick tidy up, the gravel could cover a multitude of sins, but that's not really much of a problem.
If you got it for 350. I'd be surprised if it didn't sell between 4-450.
Prices are a guide, they don't mean anything these days.
A £50k fixer upper over in Devon.
And just in case that photo doesn't tempt you to make an offer.
Always feel for the neighbours in that situation - they end up trapped as they cant sell out without taking a big hit whilst living next to human filth....
And all the rats and mice as they love places full of filth.
There's not even floors.
Someone with skills will buy that and flip it, but Jesus I'm scratching just looking at it.
Looking at what you posted here I cant even bring myself to click into the rightmove link. Its a health even stepping inside the door of that place.
You would think whoever is selling it through would at least have the sense to clean it out before putting up for sale. I doubt the person that lived there is selling it - they are probably dead from living there. I think its the worst house ever listed here.
Tbh I think I'd take the financial hit and let someone else deal with that. I'd imagine it's a distant relative or something and this property is an unwelcome headache
I took the virtual tour (they're not actually even allowing in person viewings). There's a crazy amount of books in the place, heaps of beer cans and then a huge pile of toilet roll on the first floor landing...
The owner clearly had mental health issues, what a sad way to live.
The landing.
🤢🤮
I also did the 3D tour and i suspect even seeing that is the health equivalent of smoking five cigarettes. The goggles, they do nothing.
This is a bit of an aside as it is not for sale and there is only the one picture, but I couldn't resist...
I would think the only real option would be to knock it and start again, if you could get the site for a reasonable price. You would have to do structural support on the adjacent house but its a good sized site.
"How to make your house easy to access for burglars" - Lesson 1.
Someone had read Swiss family Robinson one too many times
Disgusting!!!! But I reckon some of them posters on the wall are rare and have a bit of value.
I could be 100% wrong though.
Looks like the owner is keeping the yard behind. Streetview shows it got a new chimney in about 2010 so it has been cared for over the years.
With the grants, it’ll be a very decent house and could make a lovely country house for someone. Unlike most former farm houses the whole outside hasn’t been covered in concrete and modern sheds towering over it, inches from the back door.
But the bathroom!!! I have a soft spot of the 60’s/70’s/80’s lurid bathroom suites but in brown!!?? Did they just want to never have to brush the toilet or something. Gross.
