Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
A Saturday dear god, make it happen please
From one of the PJ Facebook pages. Dublin 22nd, Manchester 25th, London 28th & 29th
If I push my luck I can go to London 4 times in 5 weeks for gigs (king gizzard, Smashing pumpkins/weezer, James, PJ)....I'll stop dreaming
Really?!?!?
I know the new album is coming after Christmas, so they'd want to tour that..... I thought the whole band doesn't come to Dublin anymore. I've travelled for the past two tours and it's been amazing, so doing that for the next plus having a home gig would be brilliant.
I usually travel, and had planned to travel this time around, but if there is a Dublin gig and it's on a Saturday I think that will do for me
Be a great weekend in Dublin with Rammstein and Liam Gallagher on the next day plus no doubt more
Personally hoping Green Day will be as far away from those dates as possible
A gig not to be missed if you're into the heavier stuff.
Finnish Grindcore band Rotten Sound playing in Lost Lane on Thursday 2nd.
This seems to have suffered from chronic under advertisement which is a shame as they're a band not to be missed live.
That would be a great weekend allright.
I love how the names are in regular font underneath so you actually know who the f*ck is playing😀 Lavein seem to be popping up quite a bit recently in support slots.
Aha. I knew my tweet from 10 years ago complaining that they don't play Ireland anymore would eventually bear fruit. People power!!!
Zara Larsson the latest to throw her hat over that weekend...Fairview Park Friday June 21st.
June getting busy already
Its the only month in the summer for Irish promoters.
Complete saturation.
Listened to 4 random Rotten Sound "songs" on youtube there. Each song was exactly the same as its predecessor.
I guess the closest I have come to that genre of music would be Pantera, System of a Down or Slipknot, which are probably still several levels below that intensity. I couldn't make out any rhythem or melodies to any of the songs.
In fairness it’s mainly due to MCD scheduling malahide, fairview, st Anne’s, marlay park and trinity to that month and first week of July.
august always seen as hard month to sell tickets for concerts here so promoters know to avoid it.
They would want to work on their scheduling, I know they are often restricted by acts availability but they could try to push more events into July and Aug.
They avoid August as thats historically when Promoters take their holidays.
August is always busiest for summer holidays and sure you have ATN and EP next august and Collins barracks series.
its a slow month for ticket sales otherwise as people just aren’t around.
Anymore rumours on AC/DC doing Croke Park?
Sting and Blondie doing Cork (Musgrave) on Tuesday 18th June, and Belfast (Ormeau Park) on 19th.
Everyone ready?
Slift in Whelans, Sunday 25th February: https://mcd.ie/artists/slift
Finally! If you dig Oh Sees or King Gizz i highly recommend this. Tickets available on Whelans website if you want to avoid TM fees.
A remix of the album
..
Sting with Blondie announced for Musgrave Park, Tuesday June 18th, tickets from €69.90, general sale November 3rd, MCD presale November 2nd.
also playing Belfast June 19th
Never heard of em but sounds tempting....
have Coldplay not filled the CP dates?
They're really good. Great to see gigs like this in Dublin.
the three automatic dates are being used by the 4 nights by Coldplay. Mcd will have to apply for additional permission for the 4th night.
no concerts this year in croke park so maybe there is flexibility for more next year.
a once off AC/D.C. show at CP woukd be expensive if not combined with another show that weekend.
And to see them flagged in here.
Also good to see you can still get value and to 5-6 decent gigs for the price of a standing ticket in the RDS to see Rammstein or whatever.
