Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
A remix of the album
Slift in Whelans, Sunday 25th February: https://mcd.ie/artists/slift
Finally! If you dig Oh Sees or King Gizz i highly recommend this. Tickets available on Whelans website if you want to avoid TM fees.
Everyone ready?
Sting and Blondie doing Cork (Musgrave) on Tuesday 18th June, and Belfast (Ormeau Park) on 19th.
Anymore rumours on AC/DC doing Croke Park?
August is always busiest for summer holidays and sure you have ATN and EP next august and Collins barracks series.
its a slow month for ticket sales otherwise as people just aren’t around.
They would want to work on their scheduling, I know they are often restricted by acts availability but they could try to push more events into July and Aug.
They avoid August as thats historically when Promoters take their holidays.
In fairness it’s mainly due to MCD scheduling malahide, fairview, st Anne’s, marlay park and trinity to that month and first week of July.
august always seen as hard month to sell tickets for concerts here so promoters know to avoid it.
Listened to 4 random Rotten Sound "songs" on youtube there. Each song was exactly the same as its predecessor.
I guess the closest I have come to that genre of music would be Pantera, System of a Down or Slipknot, which are probably still several levels below that intensity. I couldn't make out any rhythem or melodies to any of the songs.
Its the only month in the summer for Irish promoters.
Complete saturation.
June getting busy already
Zara Larsson the latest to throw her hat over that weekend...Fairview Park Friday June 21st.
Aha. I knew my tweet from 10 years ago complaining that they don't play Ireland anymore would eventually bear fruit. People power!!!
I love how the names are in regular font underneath so you actually know who the f*ck is playing😀 Lavein seem to be popping up quite a bit recently in support slots.
That would be a great weekend allright.
A gig not to be missed if you're into the heavier stuff.
Finnish Grindcore band Rotten Sound playing in Lost Lane on Thursday 2nd.
This seems to have suffered from chronic under advertisement which is a shame as they're a band not to be missed live.
Be a great weekend in Dublin with Rammstein and Liam Gallagher on the next day plus no doubt more
Personally hoping Green Day will be as far away from those dates as possible
I usually travel, and had planned to travel this time around, but if there is a Dublin gig and it's on a Saturday I think that will do for me
Really?!?!?
I know the new album is coming after Christmas, so they'd want to tour that..... I thought the whole band doesn't come to Dublin anymore. I've travelled for the past two tours and it's been amazing, so doing that for the next plus having a home gig would be brilliant.
If I push my luck I can go to London 4 times in 5 weeks for gigs (king gizzard, Smashing pumpkins/weezer, James, PJ)....I'll stop dreaming
From one of the PJ Facebook pages. Dublin 22nd, Manchester 25th, London 28th & 29th
A Saturday dear god, make it happen please
OH
where is that from?
A Saturday, very good.
Possibly Malahide, Take That are there on the 21st.
Pearl Jam Dublin date rumoured to be 22nd June
Nouvelle Vague "20th Anniversary Tour" in Opium, Friday 16th February: https://selectivememory.ie/nouvelle-vague/
Saw them 2 or 3 times when they first appeared then lost interest. May or may not give this a whirl.
US summer tour so that’ll be July and August you’d assume
well be May -June
think that was a bit of a fib by live nation/mcd as excuse to move blink 182 to outdoors.
3arena will be closed for maintenance in August, right? For how long it will be, any idea? Can't find any info online
Autumn would be ideal, considering a lot of Green Days fanbase are of an age that might have school going children. Hardly EP is it, that was moved to August to facilitate an artist's schedule
