Nothing there there in 2019 when google street view car went by
And no planning permission listing on Sligo CoCos website
Athlone has a cathedral? First I heard of it.
It sure has.....notable for having some fantastic Harry Clarke stained glass windows.
That's not a cathedral
'sometimes mistaken for a cathedral'
Kilkenny people right now.
And just so people know, Cathedral comes from the latin for chair. It means the seat of the bishop. So it's the bishops church in the diocese.
In the case of Athlone, it's in this diocese.
The seat of that diocese is in Longford town. And that's why St. Mel's in Longford is a cathedral and athlones isn't. It's got nothing to do with the size of the building or anything like that, it's just the one where the bishop lives.
Edit: I found this. There's a list of places that want to be cities and Sligo is one of them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_status_in_Ireland#:~:text=The%20requirement%20for%20a%20town,town%20and%20sometimes%20a%20city.
I know that's all off topic, so I'll leave it now.
Well that's one way to attract a buyers attention......Wouldn't fancy doing the clean up.
Mossy.
Mossy bottom
typing missy bottom into google gives very different results.
Eek! Bloody autocorrect! Too late to edit my post now too 😳
I spotted this recently and thought 'Oh this could be cute inside' based on the outside. The inside does not match the outside, to put it mildly!
Armagh is a city, so is Lisburn...........I apologise......back to terrible houses
Can only imagine that the outside was painted by one of those groups who try to rejuvenate villages / towns etc.
Did the river flow through it at one point?
That's some wreck!
You missed several in NI, Lisburn, Armagh, Newry & Bangor are all officially Cities.
Lisburn and Newry got their city status in a raffle ffs, one's a suburb of Belfast, the other a nondescript country town by any measure.
I'm not making that up either
Bangor getting upgraded I had missed (happened last year), was even more ludicrous.
Bangor was one of eight UK towns elevated to a city in May after a competition in which it was required to show its royal associations and cultural heritage.
Its application pointed out that in 1961 the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh visited Bangor Castle and had lunch at the Royal Ulster Yacht Club, before the duke raced in a regatta.
City status is often associated with having a cathedral, a university, or a large population.
However, there are no set rules for being granted the status, which is awarded by the monarch on advice of ministers.
😆
Oh FFS lads will you take the debate to PM's .
Sorry for the backseat modding, but Jesus do we need to bring this thread to a mods attention!
A balcony 🤣
Ahh shure.....looks like a functional balcony to me....
I just watched a video of someone falling off a roof. And I can see the same happening there if you used the roof as a balcony.
Notions or something else?
The garden and outside the house is atrocious.
Scumbags is what they are.
Over 100 photos....felt like I was on tinder all the swiping 😂🤣🤣
I think it was painted up for Tidy Towns. Riverstown came first place in Co Sligo 2023
Hideously tacky.
I'm raging I can't zoom in enough on the posed photos of the couple.
Posed photo? I zipped through them fairly fast - how many pics do you need of a three piece suite? - but didn't see any people?
What about this
Pics 7, 8 and 33.
Tasteless shite. Mind you if I lived Craigavon I'd put as much crap as possible to avert the view of the dump
Absolutely all the furniture is too big for the size of the rooms.
Kitchen tiles and sitting room wallpaper definitely not my taste.
Other than that it's a fairly typical Dublin suburb house, not really sure why it's here.
